When it is ON,it receives and transmits RF energy. When you communicate with yourdevice, the system handling your call controls the power level at whichyour device transmits.
16Specific Absorption Rate (SAR)Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed notto exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves recommended byinternational guidelines. These guidelines were developed by the independentscientific organization ICNIRP and include safety margins designed toassure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and heal th.The guidelines use a unit of measurement known as Specific AbsorptionRate, or SAR. The SAR limit for mobile devices is 2 W/kg and the highestSAR value for this device was 0.85 W/kg. As SAR is measured utilizingthe device's highest transmitting power , the actual SAR of this devicewhile operating is typically below that indicated above. This is due toautomatic changes to the power level of the device to ensure it only usesthe minimum power required to communicate with the network.* The tests are carried out in accordance with EN 62311, IEC 62209-2.Body-worn OperationImportant safety information regarding radio frequency radiation (RF)

25PacemakersPacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum separation of 15cm be maintained between a mobile device and a pacemaker to avoidpotential interference with the pacemaker. To achieve this, use themobile device on the opposite ear to your pacemaker and do not carry itin a breast pocket.Hearing AidsPeople with hearing aids or other cochlear implants may experienceinterfering noises when using wireless devices or when one is nearby.The level of interference will depend on the type of hearing device andthe distance from the interference source, increasing the separ ationbetween them may reduce the interference. You may also consult yourhearing aid manufacturer to discuss alternatives.Medical DevicesPlease consult your doctor and the device manufacturer to determine if
26operation of your mobile device may interfere with the operation of yourmedical device.HospitalsSwitch off your wireless device when requested to do so in hospitals,clinics or health care facilities. These requests are designed to preventpossible interference with sensitive medical equipment.AircraftSwitch off your wireless device whenever you are instructed to do so byairport or airline staff.Consult the airline staff about the use of wireless devices on board theaircraft, if your device offers a ‘flight mode’ this must be enabled prior toboarding an aircraft.Interference in CarsPlease note that because of possible interference to electronic equipment,
27some vehicle manufacturers forbid the use of mobile Tablets in their vehiclesunless a hands-free kit with an external antenna is included in the installation.Explosive EnvironmentsPetrol Stations and Explosive AtmospheresIn locations with potentially explosive atmospheres, obey all posted signsto turn off wireless devices such as your Tablet or other radio equipment .Areas with potentially explosive atmospheres include fuelling areas,below decks on boats, fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities, areaswhere the air contains chemicals or particles, such as grain, dust, ormetal powders.Blasting Caps and AreasPower off your mobile Tablet or wireless device when in a blasting areaor in areas posted power off “two -way radios” or “electronic devices” toavoid interfering with blasting operations.
28Radio Frequency (RF) EnergyThis device meets the government ’s requirements for exposure to radiowaves.This device is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emissionlimits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the FederalCommunications Commission of the U.S. Go vernment.The exposure standard for wireless device employs a unit ofmeasurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SARlimit set by the FCC is 1.6W/kg. *Tests for SAR are conducted usingstandard operating positions accepted by the FCC wi th the devicetransmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequencybands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified powerlevel, the actual SAR level of the Tablet while operating can be wellbelow the maximum value. This is because the device is designed tooperate at multiple power levels so as to use only the poser required toreach the network. In general, the closer you are to the antenna, thelower the power output.

37How to charge your TabletThe new battery is not fully charged. To charge the battery, you need to:Connect the adapter to the charger jack.

Do Not attempt to connect a charger to the USB port. The USBport is used for data transfer only, NOT fo r charging.Powering On/Off Your DeviceHow to power on/off your device1. Make sure your SIM card and the battery are inserted.2. Press and hold the Power Key to power on your device.3. To switch it off, hold Power Key to get the Tablet options. SelectPower off, and then tap OK.
39Setting Up Your Tablet for the First TimeWhen you first power on your Tablet after you purchase it or reset it tofactory settings (see Sorting out Your Tablet Settings – Privacy: Reset toFactory Settings), you need to do some settings before using it.1. Select language and tap Start.2. Select Google’s location service and press Next.

Create a Google Account or sign in your account.You can also tap Skip to set up an account later.How to switch your device to sleep modePress the Power Key.Sleep Mode suspends your device to a low-power-consumption state whilethe display is off to save battery power. Your device also goes into SleepMode automatically when you leave it i dle after a certain period of time.How to wake up your device from sleep modeIf your device is switched to sleep mode, you need to wake it up:1. 42Getting Around Your DeviceUsing Finger GesturesYou can use finger gestures to control your device. The controls on yourtouch screen change dynamically depending on the tasks you are performing.1. Tap the buttons, icons, or applications to select items or to openapplications.2. Hold a certain item to get available options.3. Slide on the screen, you can scroll up/down. From Home Screen, y oucan also slide left/right to browse the extended Home Screen.4. Drag a certain item to move it or to do some other correspondingoperations.Tips:Besides using finger gestures to control your device, you can also switchyour device screens (such as text input screen, gallery screen, etc.) betweenportrait or landscape mode by holding the device upright or sideways.
