Vivint. Inc. Keyfob System Interface Users Manual

Users Manual

The Vivint Secure Key Remote (SKEY1) works with any Vivint Security System, allowing users to control their system with the touch of a button. Combining style and convenience, the SKEY1 allows you to arm, disarm, and control another device in your system anywhere within transmission range of the touchscreen panel. Users enjoy the ease of disarming their system as they pull up to their house or arming it on their way out the door. The SKEY1 also provides reliable security by letting you send a panic signal to the panel when the first and third buttons are held down. All signals are encrypted, providing an extra level of security. The sleek design of the SKEY1 allows it to easily fit on a key ring, or in a pocket or purse. Secure Key Remote (V-SKEY1-345) Quick Reference Programming Instructions (For more details, go to the Support page at: Vivint.com, and the KIM site at: corp.vivint.com/sites/KIM/) Use the following guidelines to add an SKEY1 device to the Vivint system and program the operating mode: • Add each SKEY1 into the panel as a non-supervised sensor. • Secure Key Remotes must be "learned" into the panel. SKEY1 devices will not function properly in Secure Mode if the sensor ID is manually entered into the panel. MODE PROGRAMMING: While the panel is learning in the SKEY1 (you must be within 5 feet/1.5 m of the panel), perform these steps: • Hold the Disarm button as you insert the battery. The LED will turn on solid red indicating the SKEY1 is ready to have its operating mode set by pressing one of the four buttons: • Disarm — Standard Mode (the LED blinks once to indicate successful mode selection) • Arm Staying — Standard Mode + GDR1 (the LED blinks twice) • Arm Leaving — Secure Mode (the LED blinks three times) • Asterisk (*) — Secure Mode + GDR1 (the LED blinks four times) IMPORTANT: Secure Mode should always be used when possible. Once the SKEY1 is placed in Secure Mode with a Vivint Control Panel, it cannot be changed to either Standard Mode. Installer Test Press any of the buttons (for approximately 2 seconds) to send test signals to the panel when it is in Test Mode. User Test Test each button's functionality by holding the button down separately (for approximately 2 seconds) until the red LED flashes. (NOTE: If the panel is NOT in Test Mode, the signals will activate the actual designated event.) Button Functionality Disarm button: Press until the red LED illuminates to disarm the system. Arm Staying button: Press until the red LED illuminates to arm in stay mode. Arm Leaving button: Press until the red LED illuminates to arm in away mode. Asterisk (*) button: Can be programmed to control other devices via the panel. Disarm and Arm Leaving buttons: Hold down both buttons until the red LED begins blinking rapidly (for about 4 seconds) to send a panic signal to the panel only if the panel is configured to do so. FCC and Industry Canada Regulatory Declarations* CAUTION: Unauthorized changes or modifications could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. This device has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of FCC Rules and Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. • Increase the separation between the equipment and the receiver. • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/television technician for help.
