MANUAL CLIMATE CONTROL (G1755900)Recirculated air: Press the button to switch between outside air andrecirculated air. The air currently in the passenger compartment recirculates.This can reduce the time needed to cool the interior and reduce unwanted odorsfrom entering your vehicle.AA/C: Press the button to switch the air conditioning on or off. Temperature control: Controls the temperature of the air circulated in thevehicle.FMAX defrost: Adjust the control to turn on defrost. Outside air flows throughthe windshield vents, air conditioning automatically turns on, and fanautomatically adjusts to the highest speed. You can also use this setting todefrost and clear the windshield of a thin covering of ice. The heated rear windowalso automatically turns on when you select maximum defrost.GNote: To prevent window fogging, you cannot select recirculated air whendefrost is on.MAX A/C: Adjust the control for maximum cooling. Number block (Station preset buttons): In radio mode, station presetbuttons allows you to store your favorite stations for later access. When tunedto any station, press and hold a preset buttons until sound returns. In phonemode, press the buttons to enter a phone number.CClock: Press this button to access the clock setting. Use the center arrowcontrols to change the hours and minutes. You can also set the clock by pressingthe MENU button and scrolling to Clock Settings.DFunction buttons: Select different functions of the audio system dependingon which mode you are in (such as Radio mode).ETUNE: In radio mode, turn to search the frequency band in individual increments.FSeek: In radio mode, select a frequency band and press this button. The systemstops at the next station up the band. Press and hold the button to seekendlessly through the frequency band and release to stop on the next station.GCursor arrows and OK: Use the up and down arrow buttons to select thevarious settings. When you make your selection, press the left and right arrowbuttons to change the settings. Press OK to set or press MENU to exit.HSeek: In radio mode, select a frequency band and press this button. Descriptions for function buttons1-4AFunction buttons 1 to 4 are contextdependent, and change according to thecurrent unit mode. The description for thefunction displays in the screen.On, Off, Volume Control KnobPress the On, Off control. This will alsooperate the unit for up to one hour with theignition turned off.The radio will switch off automaticallyafter one hour.Sound ButtonThis will allow you to adjust the soundsettings (for example bass, middle andtreble).1. Press the SOUND button.2. Use the up and down arrow buttons toselect the required setting.3. Use the left and right arrow buttons tomake the necessary adjustment. Thedisplay indicates the level selected.4. Press the OK button to confirm thenew settings.Waveband ButtonPress the RADIO button repeatedly toselect from the wavebands available.You can use the selector to return to radioreception when you have been listening toanother source.Alternatively, press the up/down arrowbutton to display the available wavebands.Scroll to the required waveband and pressOK.Station Tuning ControlSeek TuningSelect a waveband and briefly press oneof the seek buttons. The unit will stop atthe first station it finds in the direction youhave chosen.Manual Tuning1. Use the TUNE dial to tune down or upthe waveband in small increments orpress and hold to increment quickly,until you find a station you want tolisten to.2. 3. Press and hold one of the presetbuttons until you hear a beep. Whenthe station has been stored, the presetnumber along with the station nameor frequency is displayed forconfirmation.You can repeat this on each waveband andfor each preset button.Note: When you drive to another part of thecountry, stations that broadcast onalternative frequencies and are stored onpreset buttons, may be updated with thecorrect frequency and station name for thatarea.Autostore ControlThis will store up to a maximum of the tenstrongest signals available, either from theAM or the FM waveband and overwrite thepreviously stored stations. You can alsostore stations manually in the same wayas other wavebands.1. Press and hold function button 1 orthe RADIO button.2. When the search is complete, sound isrestored and the strongest signals arestored on the autostore presets.Traffic Information ControlMany stations that broadcast on the FMwaveband have a TP code to signify thatthey carry traffic program information.Turning Traffic Announcements On andOffBefore you can receive trafficannouncements, you must press either theTA button. A TA display will appear toshow the feature is switched on and theradio will tune to a station that supportstraffic program information (if available).The TA icon will change state dependingon the current status of traffic programinformation being received:The TA feature is on however thecurrent tuned station does notsupport traffic programinformation.The TA feature is on and thecurrent tuned station supportstraffic program information, butis not currently broadcasting any trafficprogram information.The current tuned station isbroadcasting traffic programinformation.When traffic information is broadcast, itwill automatically interrupt normal radioor CD playback and Trafficannouncement will appear in the display.If a non-traffic station is selected orrecalled using a preset button, the audiounit will remain on that station unless TAor TRAFFIC is turned off, then on again.Traffic Announcement VolumeTraffic announcements interrupt normalbroadcasts at a preset minimum level thatis usually louder than normal listeningvolumes.To adjust the preset volume:•Use the volume control to make thenecessary adjustment during anincoming traffic announcementbroadcast. The display will show thelevel selected.Ending Traffic AnnouncementsThe audio unit will return to normaloperation at the end of each trafficannouncement. Automatic Volume ControlWhen available, automatic volume control(AVC) adjusts the volume level tocompensate for engine noise and roadspeed noise.1. Press the MENU button and selectAUDIO SETTINGS.2. Select ADAPTIVE VOL.3. Use the left or right arrow button toadjust the setting.4. Press the OK button to confirm yourselection.5. Press the MENU button to return.Digital Signal Processing (DSP)DSP OccupancyThis feature takes into account thedifferences in distance from the variousspeakers in the vehicle to each seat. Selectthe sitting position for which the audio isto be correctly enhanced.DSP EqualizerSelect the music category that most suitsyour listening preference. The audio outputwill change to enhance the particular styleof music chosen.Changing the DSP Settings1. Press the MENU button.2. Select AUDIO SETTINGS.3. Scroll to the required DSP function.4. Use the up and down arrow buttons toselect the required setting.5. Press the OK button to confirm yourselection.6. Press the MENU button to return.News BroadcastsYour audio unit may interrupt normalreception to broadcast news bulletins fromstations on the FM waveband, radio datasystem (RDS) or other enhanced networklinked stations.The display will indicate there is anincoming announcement, during newsbroadcasts. When the audio unit interruptsfor a news broadcast the preset volumelevel will be the same as trafficannouncements.1. Press the MENU button.2. Select AUDIO SETTINGS.3. Scroll to NEWS and turn on or off withthe OK button.4. Press the MENU button to return.Alternative FrequenciesThe majority of programs that broadcaston the FM waveband have a programidentification code, it can be recognized byaudio units.When your vehicle moves from onetransmission area to another with thealternative frequencies tuning switchedon, this function will search for thestrongest station signal.Under certain conditions, alternativefrequencies tuning may temporarily disruptnormal reception.When selected, the unit continuallyevaluates signal strength and, if a bettersignal becomes available, the unit willswitch to that alternative. It mutes whileit checks a list of alternative frequenciesand if necessary, it will search once acrossthe selected waveband for a genuinealternative frequency.It will restore radio reception when it findsone or if one is not found, the unit willreturn to the original stored frequency.10 (G1828911)Ranger (TKD, TKE) , enAUSAudio System

Press the MENU button to return.Regional ModeRegional mode controls the behavior ofalternative frequencies switching betweenregionally related networks of a parentbroadcaster. A broadcaster may run a fairlylarge network across a large part of thecountry. At various times of the day thislarge network may be broken down into anumber of smaller regional networks,typically centered on major towns or cities.When the network is not split into regionalvariants, the whole network carries thesame programming.Regional mode ON: This prevents randomalternative frequency switches whenneighboring regional networks are notcarrying the same programming.Regional mode OFF: This allows a largercoverage area if neighboring regionalnetworks are carrying the sameprogramming, but can cause randomalternative frequency switches if they arenot.1. When using Ford Audio:•Do not operate playing devices if thepower cords or cables are broken, splitor damaged. Carefully place cords andcables where you cannot step on themor they do not interfere with theoperation of pedals, seats,compartments or safe driving abilities.•Do not leave playing devices in yourvehicle during extreme conditions as itcould cause them damage. Refer toyour device's manual for furtherinformation.•Do not attempt to service or repair thesystem. See an authorized dealer.Privacy InformationWhen a cell phone is connected to theAHU, the system creates a profile that islinked to that cell phone. The systemcreates the profile to offer you more mobilefeatures and to operate more efficiently.Among other things, this profile maycontain data about your phonebook andcall history. This will include the history ofcalls when your cell phone was notconnected to the system. This data isdeleted from the AHU upon removal of thephone via the BT Phone connections menu.If you no longer plan to use the system oryour vehicle, we recommend you delete allpaired phones If you connect a mediaplayer, the system creates and retains anindex of supported media content. Themedia player index and development logwill remain in the system unless deletedby a battery disconnect or via diagnosticcommand using special equipment. It areonly accessible in your vehicle only whenyou connect your media player and cannotbe accessed via the USB port with otherdevices.Using Voice Pass ThroughiPhone users can access Siri by pressingthe voice button on the steering wheelcontrols. Android users can access OKGoogle by pressing the voice button on thesteering wheel controls.Helpful HintsMake sure the interior of your vehicle is asquiet as possible. Wind noise from openwindows and road vibrations may preventthe system from correctly recognizingspoken commands.Before giving a voice command, wait forthe system announcement to finishfollowed by a single beep. Any commandspoken before this does not register withthe system.Speak naturally, without long pausesbetween words.You can interrupt the system at any timewhile it is speaking by pressing the voicebutton. Make sure the Bluetooth feature onyour cell phone is switched on beforestarting the search. Refer to yourdevice's manual if necessary.2. Press the PHONE button then scrollto BLUETOOTH devices then pressthe OK button. When the audio displayindicates that no phones are paired,select the option to add.3. When a message to begin pairingappears in the audio display, search forFord audio on your cell phone to startthe pairing process.4. Select Ford audio on your cell phone.5. Wait until the PIN appears on thephone display. Compare the PIN on thephone with the PIN shown in the audiodisplay and accept the request on thephone and the vehicle display. Thedisplay indicates when the pairing issuccessful.Note: In some cases the phone will requestto enter a PIN. Enter the four-digit PINprovided by the system in the audio display.The display indicates when the pairing issuccessful.Depending on your cell phone's capabilityand your market, the system may promptyou with questions such as setting thecurrent cell phone as the primary cellphone (the cell phone the systemautomatically tries to connect with firstwhen you switch the ignition on) ordownloading your phonebook.The information display mayshow your cell phone's batterycharge level and signal strength.Pairing Subsequent Cell PhonesWirelessly pairing your cell phone with thesystem allows you to make and receivehands-free calls.Note: You must switch the ignition andradio on.Note: To scroll through the menus, pressthe up or down arrows on your audio system.1. Make sure the Bluetooth feature onyour cell phone is switched on beforestarting the search. Refer to yourdevice's manual if necessary.2. Press the PHONE button.3. To turn the microphoneon, select the option again.Mic. offSwitch a call from an active hands-free environment to yourcell phone for a more private conversation. Accessing Your Cell Phone SettingsThese are cell phone dependent features.Your cell phone settings allow you toaccess and adjust features such as modifyyour phonebook and set up automaticdownload.1. Press the PHONE button.2. Scroll until the phone settings optionappears, then press the OK button.3. Scroll to select from the followingoptions:Action and DescriptionMenu ItemIf this option is checked, the system will use this cell phoneas the master when there is more than one cell phone pairedto the system. This option can be changed for all paired cellphones (not only for the active one) using the Bluetoothdevices menu.Set as masterSee the cell phone name, provider name, cell phone number,signal level and battery level. When done, press the left arrowbutton to return to the cell phone status menu.Phone statusModify the contents of your phonebook, e.g. add, delete,download. Press the OK button to select and scroll betweenthe options in the table below.Phonebook pref.To modify the phone book preferences,choose from the following:Action and DescriptionMenu ItemPress the OK button to select and download your phonebook to thesystem.Download nowWhen automatic download is switched off, your phonebook will notbe downloaded when your cell phone connects to the system.Auto-downloadYour phonebook, call history and text messages can only be accessedwhen your paired cell phone is connected to the system.Check or uncheck this option to automatically download your phone-book each time your cell phone connects to the system. Bluetooth DevicesThis menu provides access to yourBluetooth devices. Use the arrow buttonsto scroll through the menu options. Itallows you to add, connect and deletedevices and set a cell phone as primary.Bluetooth Devices Menu Options1. Press the PHONE button.2. Scroll until the Bluetooth device optionappears, then press the OK button.3. Scroll to select from the followingoptions:Action and DescriptionMenu ItemPair additional cell phones to the system.Add1. Select the option to add to start the pairing process.2. When a message to begin pairing appears in the audiodisplay, search for Ford audio on your cell phone. Referto your device's manual if necessary.3. Select Ford Audio on your cell phone.4. Wait until the PIN appears on the phone display. Comparethe PIN on the phone with the PIN shown in the audiodisplay and accept the request on the phones and thevehicles display. The display indicates when the pairingis successful.*5. When the option to set the cell phone as the master cellphone appears, select either yes or no.6. Depending on the functionality of your cell phone, thesystem may ask you extra questions (for example, if youwould like to download your phonebook). Select eitheryes or no to confirm your response.After deleting a cell phone from the list, the cell phone canonly be connected again by repeating the full pairing process.Select the delete option and confirm when the system asksto delete the selected device.DeleteThe system attempts to connect with the master cell phoneevery time you switch the ignition on. Action and DescriptionMenu ItemConnect a previously paired cell phone. You can only haveone cell phone connected at a time to use the cell phonefunctionality. When another cell phone is connected, theprevious cell phone will be disconnected from the telephoneservices. The system allows you to use different Bluetoothdevices for the cell phone functionality and the Bluetoothaudio music playback feature at the same time.Conn.Disconnects the selected cell phone. Select this option andconfirm when asked to. After disconnecting a cell phone, itcan be connected again without repeating the full pairingprocess.Discon.*In some cases the phone will request to enter a PIN. Enter the four-digit PIN provided bythe system in the audio display. The display indicates when the pairing is successful.Media Menu FeaturesThe media menu allows you to select howto play your music, for example by artist,genre, shuffle or repeat, and to find similarmusic or reset the index of your USBdevices.Press the OPTION buttons to get thesefeatures.Description and ActionMessageChoose to shuffle or repeat your music.
