END KEY: (Hard and Soft Key) Use to end a call, refuse a call, power off the phone and to return to the previous menu.FCT KEY: (Hard and Soft Key) Use to access PBX specific feature functionality. Note: The PBX specific features may be available only if they are supported by the gateway and programmed by the administrator.HOLD KEY: Use to put a call on hold and switch to the other line.MOUTHPIECE:SERIAL PORT: Use to downloadsoftware.SND KEY: Use to call the numberdialed, accept a call, power on the phone and to select and savesettings in the phone menus.SCROLL KEYS: Use to move upand down when selecting a feature,option or to increase or decrease call volume.Battery OperationsFully charge the battery for theNVP before initial use of thephone. Charge the batteryattached or detached from the phone.Charging the BatteryWhen charging the battery whileattached to the phone, turn off the phone before inserting it intothe charger. Place the battery orbattery and phone combinationinto the charger.The LEDs on the charger indicatethe following:GREEN indicates a fully chargedbattery. RED indicates the battery is charging; wait until the LEDchanges to GREEN before usingbattery.AMBER indicates the charger iswaiting to charge the other battery.The charger charges the phonefirst. The charging cycle for theother device starts when the firstcycle finishes.Removing the BatteryRemove the battery by depressingthe latch and pulling the top of thebattery away from the phone.Note: When the battery latch is opened. You will find the part number, serial number and manufacturing and regulatory information located on the insidecompartment.Replacing the BatteryReplace the battery to the phoneby aligning the feet on the batterywith the notches on the phone.Push the top of the battery into thephone until the latch clicks.Basic FunctionsBasic Functions introduces theuser to tasks, such as:• Power on• Login• Logout• LCD Icons • Make a call• Adjust call volume• Receive a call• End a call• Keyguard• Power off.Power OnWhen powered on, the NVPwill associate itself with the RF network and register with thetelephony gateway.To power on the NVP, press SND.The screen briefly displays theNetVision splash screen containingthe phone firmware version number. LoginThere are two different status displays, one for shared mode and the other for personal mode.Personal Mode:If your phone is configured in personal mode, the phone profilename displays with Func andMenu soft key options. If prompt-ed, enter your user PIN. When youare finished, press SND. Note: Obtain a user name andpassword (PIN) from the systemadministrator.Shared Mode:If your phone is configured inshared mode, a User Loginscreen displays.1. Enter your extension number or select your name using the scroll keys.2. Press SND. 3. If prompted, enter youruser PIN. 4. When you are finished, press SND.LogoutTo logout of the network: 1. From Menu, select Logout.2. Press SND. User Logindisplays on the LCD.LCD IconsPhone Lines -Indicates on which linea call is taking place.Number 1 for line 1 and number 2for line 2.Signal StrengthIndicator -Shows the RF signalstrength from the access point.“X” -Indicates that the phoneis not associated. Note:When the phone is not associated,it will beep three times and turn offafter 5 minutes.Battery Strength -When battery is low,the battery indicator will begin to flash and the phone will beep once. Make a CallTo place a call (to another NVP):1. Enter extension number or select name of the NVP by using the scroll keys.2. Press SND. The phone displays the name ornumber of the user being called.Adjust Call VolumeWhen in an active call, adjust thevolume of the current call using thescroll keys. Select from Level 0(low) to Level 15 (high).Receive a CallFor an incoming call, the caller IDfeature allows user to identifycallers before answering the call.There are two types of incomingcall modes: no active call and call waiting.No Active CallTo accept an incoming call whenthere is no active call taking place,press SND.Call WaitingTo accept an incoming call whileon an active call, press HOLD and the phone will switch to thesecond line to answer the call.End a CallTo end a call, press END. The LCD screen displays Call Hangup.KeyguardLock the keypad in order to prevent accidental phone operation and unnecessary battery power consumption. Any incoming call can beanswered without unlocking the keypad. To lock keypad:1. From Menu, scroll toKeyguard menu option.2. Press SND. Keys  Lockeddisplays on the LCD screen.--or--The NetVision Phone (NVP) provides on-site, wireless voice communication capability. The NVP performs like a cellular phone. Before use, the NVP requires configuration to the local network by the system administrator. 1Soft Keys appear as texton the LCD screen: Use to return to the previous menu.: Use to ignore an incoming call. When used, it disables all ring tones temporarily. Note: The incoming call may still be answered by pressing SND.: Use to place a call.: Use to clear an entry.: Use to display the phone user menu.: Use to display name directory.: Use to accept an entry or answer a call.Battery LatchLEDsBattery

Once the selection is made, a sample of the option is given.3. Press SND. Ring  Type Configured displays on theLCD screen.Ring ToneTo set the ring tone for incomingcalls:1. Select Ring Tone fromthe Settings menu and press SND.2. Use the scroll keys to select from Tone  1 to Tone  6. Once the selection is made, a sample of the option is given.3. Press SND. Ring  Tone Configured displays on the LCD screen.Key VolumeTo set the volume level:1. Select Key Volume fromthe Settings menu and press SND.2. Select from Off, Low or Highvolume option. Once theselection is made, a sample of the option is given.3. Press SND. Key  Volume Configured displays onthe LCD screen.BacklightTo set the LCD screen to illuminate in the dark:1. Select Backlight from the Settings menu and press SND.2. Use the scroll keys to select backlight options: Off: always offOn: always onAuto: 10 second timeout after key press.3. Press SND. Backlight Configured displays on the LCD screen.ContrastTo set the contrast level of theLCD screen to suit various lightingconditions:1. Select Contrast from Settings menu andpress SND.2. Use the scroll keys to adjust thecontrast slider from Level 0(light) to Level 15 (dark).3. Press SND. Contrast Configured displays on the LCD screen.LanguageTo set the phone to display a certain language:1. Select Language fromthe Settings menu and press SND.2. Use the scroll keys to select the desired language.3. Press SND. Language Configured displays on the LCD screen.Answer ModeTo set a method for which anincoming call is answered: 1. Select Answer Modefrom the Settings menuand press SND, options aredisplayed.2. Use the scroll keys to select from:Send: Press SND to answer an incoming call.Decline: Declines all incoming calls automatically. Auto: The phone answers an incoming call automatically; no action is necessary.3. Press SND.
