9USDR-BT10CX_U2 [US,ES] 2-698-598-41(1)PairingContinuedWhat is pairing?BLUETOOTH devices need to be“paired” with each otherbeforehand.Once BLUETOOTH devices arepaired, there is no need for pairingagain, except in the following cases:•When pairing information isdeleted after repair, etc.• When this unit is paired with 9 ormore devices.This unit can be paired with 8BLUETOOTH devices; if a newdevice is paired after 8 deviceshave been paired, the devicewhose latest connection time isthe oldest among the 8 paireddevices is replaced by the newone.•When recognition of the unit bythe device to be connected isdeleted.•When this unit is initialized.All pairing information is deleted.Procedures of pairing1Place the connectingdevice within 1 m (3 ft)of this unit.2Press and hold thePOWER button for 7seconds or more tostandby for pairingwhile the unit is turnedoff.Notes•After about 3 seconds, power isturned on and the indicator(blue) and indicator (red) flashtogether twice. Keep the buttonpressed without releasing untilboth indicators start flashingtogether, then release the button.This unit enters into pairingmode.•If pairing is not establishedwithin about 5 minutes, pairingmode will be canceled and thisunit will turn off. In this case,start over from step 1.

This unit isdisplayed as “DR-BT10CX.”NoteIf “DR-BT10CX” is not displayed,repeat from step 1.4Select “DR-BT10CX” onthe display of theconnecting device.5If Passcode* input isrequired on the displayof a connecting device,input “0000.”Pairing is complete when theindicator (blue) flashes slowly.The message standing for“Pairing complete” appears onthe display of someBLUETOOTH devices.*Passcode may be called“Passkey,” “PIN code,” “PINnumber,” or “Password.”NotePasscode of this unit is fixed at“0000.” This unit cannot be pairedwith a BLUETOOTH devicewhose Passcode is not “0000.”6Start the BLUETOOTHconnection from theBLUETOOTH device.This unit memorizes thedevice as the latest connecteddevice. To enjoy better soundquality, adjust the earbuds positionto sit on your ears comfortably orpush them into the inside of yourears so that they fit your ears snugly.If the earbuds do not fit your ears,try ones of other size.How to use the holderStore the earpieces. The sensitivity of BLUETOOTHcommunication will improve by placinga connected BLUETOOTH device nearthe unit.•The following conditions may affect thesensitivity of BLUETOOTHcommunication.–There is an obstacle such as a person,metal, or wall between this unit andBLUETOOTH device.–A device using 2.4 GHz frequency,such as a wireless LAN device,cordless telephone, or microwaveoven, is in use near this unit.•Because BLUETOOTH devices andwireless LAN (IEEE802.11b/g) use thesame frequency, microwaveinterference may occur and resulting incommunication speed deterioration,noise, or invalid connection if this unitis used near a wireless LAN device. To removethe AC power adaptor from the walloutlet, grasp the adaptor plug itself;never pull the cord.Others•Do not place this unit in a placeexposed to humidity, dust, soot orsteam, subject to direct sunlight, or in acar waiting at a traffic signal. It maycause a malfunction.•Using the BLUETOOTH device maynot function on mobile phones,depending on radio wave conditionsand location where the equipment isbeing used.•If you experience discomfort after usingthe BLUETOOTH device, stop usingthe BLUETOOTH device immediately.Should any problem persist, consultyour nearest Sony dealer.•Do not allow small children to use thisunit.•Do not use this unit in a place where itmay be snagged, such as near ashredder, or machine facility, etc.•The left and right connectors willuncouple for safety if excessivepressure is applied. To reduce the riskof this unit from falling, avoidexcessive movement.• Listening with this unit at high volumemay affect your hearing. For trafficsafety, do not use this unit while drivingor cycling.•If the earbuds become wet, wipe it witha dry towel before using.•Clean the earbuds by hand-washingwith a mild detergent solution.
