2ENGLISHDESCRIPTIONThe Shure PA821SWB Antenna Combiners actively combine antennaoutputs from up to eight PSM wireless transmitters to a single antenna, im-proving RF performance and reducing rack clutter.INSTALLATIONSet the power switch on the front panel to OFF before installing. Connectthe unit to an AC power source using the supplied power cable. Switch thepower ON to use the device. The power light will illuminate. Power the unitOFF when not in use or before disconnecting the unit from the AC powersource.8-TO-1 COMBINING:1. Using the supplied BNC-BNC cables, connect the ANTENNA OUTPUT of each transmitter to the ANTENNA INPUTS of the PA821SWB (Figure 2).2. Attach an antenna to the MAIN OUT of PA821SWB. For wideband applications, use PA805SWB directional antenna (Figure 1).3. Connect the PA821SWB to a power outlet using one of the supplied power cables. The PA821SWB contains a universal power supply to operate anywhere in the world.NOTE: When the PA821SWB is powered on, the input signal indicators (1-8) on the front panel will illuminate if an active transmitter is connected to the corresponding input (1-8) on the back panel (Figure 1).FIGURE 1FIGURE 2! REFER all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is dam-aged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.15. DO NOT expose the apparatus to dripping and splashing. DO NOT put objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the apparatus.16. The MAINS plug or an appliance coupler shall remain readily operable.17. The airborne noise of the apparatus does not exceed 70dB (A).18. Apparatus with CLASS I construction shall be connected to a MAINS socket outlet with a protective earthing connection.19. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. 20. Do not attempt to modify this product. Doing so could result in personal injury and/or product failure.USE only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.This symbol indicates that dangerous voltage constituting a risk of electric shock is present within this unit. This symbol indicates that there are important operating and maintenance instructions in the literature accompanying this unit.WARNING: Voltages in this equipment are hazardous to life. No user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. The safety certifications do not apply when the operating voltage is changed from the factory setting. PSM TransmittersACPOWER
3ENGLISHFOR MORE THAN 8 TRANSMITTERS:1. Using the supplied BNC-BNC cables, connect the ANTENNA OUTPUT of each transmitter to the ANTENNA INPUTS of the PA821SWB.2. Use the 1 ft. jumper BNC-BNC cable to connect the MAIN OUTPUT of the PA821SWB to the A IN of the EXPANSION PORT. 3. Connect another ANTENNA OUTPUT (from a ninth PSM trans-mitter, second PA821SWB or other antenna port) to the B IN of the EXPANSION PORT.4. Attach an antenna to the A + B OUT of the EXPANSION PORT.
