The remote-pager comes with GLO which is a unique color LCD displaythat visually tells the vehicle owner the security status of your car at all times. There are differing icons that will appear on your GLO LCD indicating what your vehicle is currently doing. Safety InformationColor LCDPlease take these safety precautions under the following conditions: 1. Servicing the vehicle When servicing (i.e. changing the oil, washing your car) your automobile, theMAGICAR system should be in Valet Mode. There is a safety shutdown switch under the hood that deactivates the remote starter function if the hood is open. However, if the switch has been damaged or the switch has been installed improperly, the vehicle may start when Button II is pressed for 2 seconds even if the hood is open. 2. Loaning your vehicle to othersWhenever you loan your vehicle to an individual who is not familiar with Compustar,please put the vehicle in Valet mode. This will prevent the vehicle loaner from accidentally activating the MAGICAR auto-security system. 3. For manual transmission vehiclesIf the MAGICAR 2W9000Pro,2W9000Pro-2nd is installed in a manual transmission vehicle, extra precautions are required because the MAGICAR does not monitor the gear shift:Important!Under normal circumstances, Reservation Mode is cancelled when a door or hatchback opens. Please verify if the opening of any door or hatchback cancels Reservation Mode. If any of the doors or hatchback is not monitored by MAGICAR because of improper installation or a faulty dome light switch, do not use the MAGICAR and take your vehicle to the dealer immediately for repair. Do not set Reservation Mode when the window(s) are open or if there is anyone inside of the vehicle including animals. The car siren will be mute only when arming or disarmingyour vehicle. In alarm mode, the starter kill function(this maybe an optionalfeature provided by your installer) is activated. This feature disengages the starter mechanism on your car that prevents you from starting your car even with a manual key when your vehicleŖs alarm mode isactivated.Note :If you lose your remote after you have armed the vehicle, use your key to open the vehicle. The siren will go off. Turn on and off ignition 5 timeswith your key to shut off the siren and turn the system into valet mode. Cancel the valet mode with remote later. See Valet mode. Note : (Siren duration is 30 to 60 sec depending on the options set at the time of initial installation.)Step2 :Within a 10 second period after cycling the ignition for the 5th time, press button I. The car parking lights will flash once to confirm that the transmitter has been programmed. Continue program the additional remotes. The parking lights will flash two times when the programming mode is expired.

Your engine will continue running for thepreset time even if you take your key from the ignition. This is for your quick stop at, for example, a grocery store. Diagnosing problems with Auto-Start If there is a problem in auto-starting your car, you will hear three chirps when youattempt to auto-start the car. The remote pager unit will beep and the hammer icon shows up a couple of times૆Heavy impact to your vehicle will activate the second stage shocksensorand the car siren will chirp for 30 to 60 seconds and the parking lights will flash for 30 to 60 seconds. The remote-pager will be notified audibly and a hammer icon will blink in the GLO LCD. Press Button Ifor a 1/2 second to turn off the second stage shock sensor sirens and flashing lights. Press Button ii@for 2 seconds to auto-start an automatic transmission engine.Remember that a manual key in the ignition is required to drive the car. In addition, the anti-grind circuit(this maybe an optional feature provided by your installer) prevents you from re-cranking the starter on a remote-started vehicle. Press Button iifor 2 seconds in order to turn off an auto-started car. For manual transmission vehicles, please use reservation mode. The engine will run 15 or 25 minutes (25 or 45 min for diesel) depending on presetoptions at the time of installation and then shut off. If your remote-pager has a problem starting the vehicle, CompuStar will try 2 additional times. If the engine does not start after the third attempt, please call your authorizedCompuStar dealer.Auto-Start FunctionDual Stage Shock Sensor Reservation Mode (manual transmission only)In order to auto-start your manual transmission car, you must first set theMAGICARsystem to Reservation Mode before leaving your vehicle. The purposeof Reservation Mode is to leave the transmission gear in the neutral position whenyou leave your vehicle. Reservation mode is intended for use in MANUALTRANSMISSIONS ONLY and NOT FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.Reservation Mode must be engaged each and every time you leave your manualtransmission car in order to auto-start the vehicle.Note : The system is not recommended for vehicles with removable tops.Important Requirements to activate Reservation ModeႫThe transmission must be in the NEUTRAL position. ႫThe vehicle windows must be rolled up. ႫDo not set the reservation mode with people in the vehicle. ႫDo not auto-start the car with people in the vehicle.
Page 12 Page 13Important!If you try to auto-start the vehicle when reservation modehas not been set or turned on, the auto-start feature will not work. When you press the auto-start button, the remote beeps three times, the car parking lights will flash three times and the siren chirps three times. A couple of seconds later, the cause for the error will be indicated by the numberof times parking lights flash. See Page 13 for error messages.Activating Reservation Mode(Manual Transmission only)Step1 : After arriving at your destination, and BEFORE TURNING YOUR ENGINE OFF, place the transmission in the Neutral position.Step2 : Remove your foot from the foot brake.Step3 : Activate the parking brake.Step4 : Remove the key from the ignition. The engine will remain running.Step5 : Exit the vehicle and close the door within two minutes after activating the parking brake. The engine will shut off and reservation mode for the remote starter is now complete.Your vehicle is now ready for auto-starting. However, the reservation mode will be cancelled if the door is opened or the MAGICAR system is put in Valet modeafter the reservation has been set. Once cancelled, you will have to start the vehicle with the manual key and repeat the above 5 steps if you want to restorereservation mode. If you do not want to set reservation mode, shut off the engine before you exit the vehicle. The engine will shut off for the following reasons: ႫYou did not activate the parking brake or press the foot brake when you turned the manual key to the off position. ႫYou released the parking brake while the engine was running. ႫYou entered Valet Mode after the Reservation Mode has been completed. Error MessagesIf there is a problem in auto-starting your car, you will hear three chirps when you attempt to auto-start the car. Press ButtonIVfor a 1/2second to activate the Query Function.Query FunctionPanic ModePress ButtonIVfor 2 seconds to enter Panic Mode. In this mode, the car will arm if not armed already and the siren will activate and the parking lights will flash. In order to disengage Panic Mode, press Button Ifor 1/2 second. Then, press ButtonIfor a 1/2 second to unlock/disarm your vehicle.If Anti-Jacking option has been programmed (ask your dealer if you liketo have this option) and the Ignition-Kill has been installed , the Panic Mode works as Anti-Jacking if the car key in the ignition. In Anti-Jackingmode is activated while key is in the ignition,a)Siren will go off for 1.5 minutes, and b) Ignition-Kill will be activated afterthe first 30 seconds. That is to give warning to the hijacker for the first30 seconds and then to disconnect the ignition to stop the vehicle
Page 15Page 14The only feature operating in valet mode is the keyless entry function.Valet Mode is very useful when loaning your vehicle or having it serviced.In order to enter Valet mode, press Buttons HiKiiiIsimultaneously for a 1/2 second. In order to manually enter Valet Mode, insert your car key into the ignition and turn the ignition on and off(between ACC and ON)five times within 10 seconds.Valet ModeYou can exit Valet Mode only by pressing ButtonsHiKiiiIsimultaneously for a 1/2 second. Timer Start ModeIn Timer Start Mode, your car automatically starts every 1.5 or 3.0 hours depending on preset options during the time of installation for a 24-hour period. This mode is deleted automatically after 24 hours or once you start your car with either your manual key or remote-pager. In order to enter Timer Start Mode, press Buttons(II+IV)simultaneously for a 1/2 second.Also, note that Timer Start Mode becomes Cold Start Modeonce an optional temperature sensor is installed. Important!Timer Start Mode should be used only in open areas. Never start and run the vehicle in an enclosed space such as a garage or carport.Safety Shut Down FeaturesMAGICAR 2W9000Pro, 2W9000Pro-2nd system has several shut down safetyfeatures. The following actions will shut down the engine or prevent the car fromauto-starting : Opening of the car engine hood, Pressing of the brake or Valet modeis turned on.The optional RPS is a feature that allows an individual to page the owner of a vehicle by simply tapping on the front windshield of the car. RPS is automaticallyturned on upon activating alarm mode (pressing Button I for a 1/2 second) on the 2W9000Pro 2W9000Pro, 2W9000Pro-2nd .The RPS module can be activated by tapping a manual key producing ahigh-frequency vibration. This high-frequency vibration is detected and your remote-pager will beep and a telephone icon will appear on theGLO LCD indicatingthat someone is paging you from your vehicle. Press ButtonI, II, IIIor IVfor a 1/2 second to deactivate the RPS visual andaudible paging alerts.RPS (Remote Paging System)OPTIONAL PROGRAMMABLE FEATURESThese additional programmable features can be programmed to the MAGICAR system by your authorized MAGICAR dealer. Ignition LockThis programmable option enables your vehicle to automatically lock the doors When the brake pedal is pressed after starting the vehicle with a key. In addition, the vehicle will automatically unlock the doors upon pulling the key outfrom the ignition. However, if the emergency brake wire was installed, the vehiclewill unlock upon the emergency brake is set if the engine is still running with thekey. This option must be chosen at the time of installation.You can turn this function on or off by pressing Buttons(II+III)for a 1/2 second. When set to passive arming, your security system will arm automatically 30 seconds after all the car doors are closed. There are two types of passive arming that can be programmed by your MAGICAR dealership: (1) passive arming with passive lock and (2) passive arming with active lock.Passive Arming
Optional Auxiliary 1 & Auxiliary 2The auxiliary system is an optional car feature that can be tailored for your vehicleby your local authorized MAGICAR dealership. For example, you can customize your car to have remote power control of your windows, radio, and sunroof in addition to the rooftop on your convertible car.Page 17OPTIONAL INSTALLATION FEATURES The MAGICAR 2W9000Pro, 2W9000Pro-2nd remote-pager has additional features andexpansion possibilities that require additional parts and labor.Cold Start ModeIf the optional temperature sensor has been installed,Timer Start Mode becomes Cold Start Mode, Under this mode, your car automatically starts if the temperature of the inside of the vehicle goes below the preset temperature. The minimum interval between the starts will be 1.5 or 3.0 hours depending on preset options during the time of installation. Cold Start Mode is activated ordeactivated by pressing Buttons HiiKivIfor a 1/2 second.Passive locking means the door will lock when the system passively arms. In the default factory setting, the system is armed and locked actively, which meansthe system will only arm/lock when the remote-pager is utilized.Note: 1. If you select both Auto Arming and Passive Arming, AutoArming takes priority over Passive Arming.2. If you select Passive Arming with Active Lock in the programming option, you are also selecting Auto Arming without Auto Lock. Consult your installer. Page 16Turbo ModeIf this optional Turbo Mode has been programmed at the time of installation,you can turn this feature on and off by pressing Buttons(III+IV)for a 1/2 second.Under this mode, engine continues running for 2 minutes after key has been taken out from the ignition if emergency brake was on when the key is taken out. To utilize this mode, the emergency brake sensing wire has to be connected to theemergency brake wire of the vehicle. Consult the authorized dealer for this mode. 2nd Car ModeThe Remote-Pager is able to operate 2nd vehicle. Press buttons III&IVsimultaneously for 1/2 second. If this mode is turned to 2nd Car, the Remote-Pager will not communicate with the 1st vehicle. To Exit 2nd Car press button III&IVsimultaneously again. (Consult your Authorized Dealer)
