Note: If there are only 2 handsets registered to the base, pressing the Intercombutton will automatically page the other handset.3.Press          to hang up. The call is transferred to the other handset.Announced Transfer1.Follow steps 1 through 3 above.2.To answer the page on the other handset, press (          ).3.Tell the person on the other handset that you are transferring a call, then press(          ) button again.The call is transferred to the other handset and all threeindividuals are on the call.4.Press  (        )to hang up the second handset.VolumeOKCOKOKCCCOKOK13Multihandset FunctionsCMultihandset FunctionsYou can have up to 4 handsets registered to a base station. Expansion handsets donot require connection to a phone line. You can place the handset and itscharging base anywhere a standard electrical outlet is available.With multiple handsets, you can:      Conference call      Handset to handset intercom       Set up handsets to automatically answer intercom  calls       Transfer calls from one handset to anotherConference Calling If one handset is already on a call, the display on other handsets registered to thesame base station shows   Line  in  use Once a second handset is added to the call, the displays on all handsets showsOn conference. A maximum of 2 handsets can be on a conference call at the same time.1.To connect a second handset to a call, press        or        on the second handset.2.To disconnect from the conference call, press      on either or both handsets.
Connecting Your Phone This section is a reference guide to the basic functions and operations of your cordless telephone. For more detailed descriptions of the operations and features of this telephone, refer to the Content on page 1.1.Carefully remove your cordless telephone from its shipping carton. If there  is    any visible damage, do not attempt to operate this equipment. Return it to  the    place of purchase.2.Check to be sure you have all items that come with this cordless telephone     system. You should have a HANDSET, BASE UNIT,AC ADAPTOR,TELEP    HONE LINE CORD, SHORT TELEPHONE LINE CORD,BATTERY PACK,     BELT CLIP and Owner's Manual.Getting Started3.Insert the small plug on end of the AC ADAPTOR into the POWER IN  CONNEC    -TION JACK at the back of the BASE UNIT.4.Plug the AC ADAPTOR into a 120V AC wall outlet.   USE ONLY WITH CLASS 2 POWER SOURCE 9V DC, 500 mA.5.Insert one plug of the TELEPHONE LINE CORD into the house TELEPHONE   JACK and the other end into the TELEPHONE LINE CONNECTION JACK   on the back of the BASE UNIT.6.We recommend not placing this unit next to appliances. The phonebook can hold 64 names and numbers.1 Press Directory(       )2.Scroll to (New Entry) and press SELECT (        ).3.Enter the name (up to 11 characters). Press Cancel(        ) to backspace and erase  characters to the left of the blinking cursor. See page 6 for information onentering text.
Preparing for UseBefore you can use your cordless telephone, you must charge the HANDSET for12 hours. Failure to do so will require recharging of the BATTERY PACK moreoften.1.Place the HANDSET in the BASE  Cradle  for 12 hours.2.After 12 hours, remove the HANDSET from the BASE UNIT.NOTE:Depending on the frequency of use, once the HANDSET is fully charged, itremains functional for approximately 4 hours of continuous use and approxim-ately 5 days when the HANDSET is off the BASE UNIT in STANDBY mode.Using the Handset DisplayWhen the handset is not in use, the display shows the standby screen.4Getting StartedSwitching Between the Handset and SpeakerphonePress Handsfree(        ).Muting a Call  Press MUTE(        ). To unmute the call, press MUTE again.Redialing a Number To redial the most recently dialed number:1.Press TALK(         ).2.Press Redial. If a number in the redial list matches a number in your phonebook, the phonebookname and number display in the redial list instead of just the phone number.Using the handset finder(PAGE)1.Press PAGE on the base station. The charge LED will light if the handset iswithin range. A series of beeps will sound for approximately 15 seconds.2.Place the handset back into the base or press the TALK button to stop thepage/find feature.Out of Range Warning If you venture too far from the base the handset will beep. Reverse your directionto re-establish connection with the base or the call will be dropped. When the basedetects that the handset has been out of range for 20 continuous seconds it willrelease the engaged line.OK9Using the HandsetCCUsing the HandsetPlacing Calls(       )Press the Talk button. When you hear the dial tone, dial the number. Or enter thephone number, then press TALK(        ). The phone number is displayed on thescreen before the number is dialed.During a call, a timer on the display shows the amount of time on the call.When you are finished talking, press (       )to hang up.Press Handsfree to answer using the speakerphone.If you have call waiting service, press TALK to answer the second call.Making a Call Using the SpeakerphonePress Handsfree and dial the number. When the speakerphone on the handset ison,       appears on the display.When you are finished talking, press (       ) to hang up and turn the speakerphone off.When pressing Handsfree in the caller ID list, redial list, or phonebook turnsthe speakerphone on and (       )dials the number.Press Handsfree(       ).If you have call waiting service, press TALK (        )to answer the second call.
