Your Bluetooth  Wireless Portable Speaker can communicate with other Bluetooth  devices within a range of approximately 10 meters (33 feet).How Can I Use My Wireless Portable Speaker?Your Wireless Portable Speaker equipped with Bluetooth  technology lets you connect with other similarly equipped devices such as a Motorola V600 with integrated Bluetooth  technology.• Use your phone hands free.• Handle incoming and outgoing calls with the multifunction control button (MFB).• Use voice activation to make calls. 8PreliminaryUsing Your Portable SpeakerCharging Your Portable SpeakerWhen to ChargeFirst-Time Use—Before you can use your portable speaker, you need to charge its self-contained battery for two hours.Recharging—When you hear five rapid high tones through the portable speaker, repeated at 20-second intervals, the speaker battery needs to be recharged.Over extended periods of time, batteries gradually wear down and require longer charging times. This is normal. The more you use the portable speaker with your phone, the less standby time your battery has.The rechargeable batteries that power this product must be disposed of properly and may need to be recycled. Contact your local recycling center for proper disposal methods. Never dispose of batteries in a fire because they may explode.A fully charged battery provides approximately:• 3 hours talk time• 100 hours standby time
9Using Your Portable SpeakerPreliminaryHow to ChargeNote: You can use either a Motorola Original Wall Charger or Motorola Original Vehicle Power Adapter to charge the speaker.Note: The speaker will function with the charger connected, but no charging will occur. If a low battery is detected while the unit is on, charging will begin.Step1Turn off unit.2Plug the Motorola charger into the speaker, with the charger’s release tab facing up, and the speaker facing up.3Plug the other end of the charger into an electrical outlet.During charging, the mute button indicator turns on and remains lit until charging is complete. The speaker will function while charging. Your speaker requires approximately two hours to receive a full charge.4When charging is complete (mute indicator is off), remove the charger from the electrical outlet, press the release tab, and detach the charger cord from the speaker.Release Tab

Using Your Portable Speaker14PreliminaryPairing Your Portable Speaker and PhoneNote: You must pair your Portable Speaker and phone before you can make a call.“Pairing” creates a link between devices equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology and allows the phone to remember the speaker’s unique ID. Once your speaker and phone are paired, your speaker automatically connects to your phone any time you turn on the speaker.PairingWith the Portable Speaker and phone in close proximity:Step Result1Put the speaker into pairing mode.aPress the volume button once.The MFB LED illuminates.2Initiate the pairing sequence using hands free mode if available.The unit may also be paired in headset mode if hands free mode is not available.

Devices are stored in a “Paired Device List” in memory in chronological order. When an attempt to pair to more than eight devices is made, the oldest paired device is removed from the list. 3Perform a device discovery from the phone. For details on device discovery for your phone, refer to the user’s guide for the phone.When the scan is complete, the phone displays the devices found.4Select the Motorola HF800 from the discovered devices list and confirm following the on screen prompts.5When prompted by the phone, enter the passkey 0000 and confirm to pair the speaker with the phone.The device ID is now stored in the phone’s memory.Pairing is successful when the speaker indicator flashes 10 times rapidly.Step Result
Using Your Portable Speaker16PreliminaryAny of the eight paired devices can initiate a paired connection to the speaker.The speaker will only automatically initiate a paired connection (when powered on) with the last  device it was connected to. If you want to connect the Portable Speaker to another device in the paired device list, you must initiate the connection from that device. Whichever of the eight devices initiates a connection to the speaker afterwards, that device then becomes the “last connected” device. Step Result1Perform a device discovery from the phone. Defects in materials and workmanship in (a) wireless cellular telephones, pagers, and/or two-way radios, (b) accessories that are sold with them, such as the battery, battery charger and holster manufactured and/or sold by Motorola, and (c) accessories manufactured and/or sold by Motorola (Products).•Batteries. Defects in materials and workmanship in batteries that are manufactured by Motorola and/or sold with Products are covered by this warranty only if the fully-charged capacity falls below 80% of rated capacity or they leak.•Software. Physical defects in the media that tangibly embodies each copy of any software supplied with the Products.II. What the Period of Coverage IsFrom the date the Products are purchased by the first end-user:•Products. The warranty is for one year. Exception: The warranty for Spirit GT series and Talkabout series two-way radio accessories is for 90 days.•Software. The warranty is for 90 days.

If instructed to ship the Products, you must ship them with freight, duties and insurance prepaid. Regardless of where you are instructed to return the Products, you must include: (a) a copy of your receipt, bill of sale or other comparable proof of purchase; (b) a written description of the problem; (c) the name of your service provider (if this Product requires subscription service); (d) the name and location of the installation facility (if applicable) and, most importantly; (e) your address and telephone number. If requested, you must also return all detachable parts such as antennas, batteries and chargers. RETAIN YOUR ORIGINAL PROOF OF PURCHASE.For Products you ship to us, we will ship repaired or replacement Products at our expense for the freight and insurance, but at your expense for any duties. If additional information is needed, please contact us at the telephone number listed above.VI. What This Warranty Does Not Cover• Products that are operated in combination with ancillary or peripheral equipment or software not furnished by Motorola for use with the Products ("ancillary equipment"), or any damage to the Products or ancillary equipment as a result of such use. Any of these voids the warranty.• Products that have: (a) serial numbers or date tags that have been removed, altered or obliterated; (b) board serial numbers that do not match each other, or board serial numbers that do not match the housing; or (c) nonconforming or non-Motorola housings or parts. Any of these voids the warranty.• Defects or damage that result from: (a) use of the Products in a manner that is not normal or customary; (b) improper operation or misuse; (c) accident or neglect such as dropping the Products onto hard surfaces; (d) contact with water, rain, extreme humidity or heavy perspiration; (e) contact with sand, dirt or the like; or (f) contact with extreme heat, or spills of food or liquid.• Physical damage to the surface of the Products, including scratches, cracks or other damage to a display screen, lens or other externally exposed parts.• Failure of Products that is due primarily to any communication service or signal you may subscribe to or use with the Products.• Coil cords that are stretched or that have any broken modular tabs.
26Warranty• Products that are leased.Flat-rate repair rates may apply to Products not covered by this warranty. We will provide information on repair availability, rates, methods of payment, where to send the Products, etc.VII. Some Other LimitationsThis is Motorola’s complete warranty for the Products, and states your exclusive remedies. This warranty is given in lieu of all other express warranties. Implied warranties, including without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, are given only if specifically required by applicable law. Otherwise, they are specifically excluded. No warranty is made as to coverage, availability, or grade of service provided by the Products, whether through a service provider or otherwise. No warranty is made that the software will meet your requirements or will work in combination with any hardware or applications software products provided by third parties, that the operation of the software products will be uninterrupted or error free, or that all defects in the software products will be corrected.  In no event shall Motorola be liable, whether in contract or tort (including negligence) for damages in excess of the purchase price of the

Our obligation is conditioned on: (a) you notifying us promptly in writing when you receive notice of the claim; (b) you giving us sole control of the defense of the suit and all negotiations for its settlement or compromise; and (c) should the Products become, or in Motorola's opinion be likely to become, the subject of a claim of infringement of a United States patent, you permit us, at our option and expense, either to: procure for you the right to continue using the Products; replace or modify them so that they become non-infringing; or grant you a credit for such Products, as depreciated, and accept their return. The depreciation will be an equal amount per year over the lifetime of the Products, as established by Motorola.Motorola will have no liability to you with respect to any claim of patent infringement that is based upon the combination of the Products or parts furnished under this limited warranty with ancillary equipment, as defined in VI., above.This is Motorola’s entire liability with respect to infringement of patents by the Products.
28WarrantyLaws in the United States and other countries preserve for Motorola and other third party software providers certain exclusive rights for copyrighted software, such as the exclusive rights to reproduce in copies and distribute copies of such software. The software may be copied into, used in and redistributed with only those Products that are associated with such software. No other use, including without limitation, disassembly or reverse engineering of such software or exercise of exclusive rights in such software is permitted.IX.
