Insert or remove the memory cardUse only compatible memory cardsapproved by Nokia for use with thisdevice. ChargingAbout the batteryYour device has an internal,nonremovable, CTIA 1725-certifiedrechargeable battery. Use only Nokiaapproved chargers designated for thisdevice. You can also use a compatible USBdata cable to charge your device.Do not attempt to remove the batteryfrom the device. Take the device to thenearest authorised service facility forreplacement of the battery.You can use USB charging when a walloutlet is not available. Data can betransferred while charging the device. Theefficiency of USB charging power variessignificantly, and it may take a long timefor charging to start and the device tostart functioning.Only connect your device to products thathave a USB-IF logo or have completed theUSB-IF compliance program.Authorised retail points may also offer abattery replacement service.When your device is low on power, it goesinto power save mode. To deactivatepower save mode, press and hold thepower key, and select Deactivate powersaving. When power save mode isactivated, you may not be able to modifythe settings of certain applications.Charge the batteryYour battery has been partially charged atthe factory, but you may need to rechargeit before you can switch on your device forthe first time.If the device indicates a low charge, do thefollowing:1 Connect the charger to a wall outlet.2 Connect the charger to the device.3 When the device indicates a fullcharge, disconnect the charger fromthe device, then from the wall outlet.You do not need to charge the battery fora specific length of time, and you can usethe device while it is charging.If the battery is completely discharged, itmay take several minutes before thecharging indicator appears on the displayor before any calls can be made.If the battery has not been used for a longtime, to begin charging, you may need toconnect the charger, then disconnect andreconnect it.10 Get started© 2011 Nokia. All radio frequency signalsbetween the device and the cellularnetwork are prevented. If you try to senda message, it is placed in the Outboxfolder, and is sent only when anotherprofile is activated.You can also use your device without a SIMcard. Switch the device off, and removethe SIM card. When you switch back on,the offline profile is activated.Important: In the offline profileyou cannot make or receive any calls, oruse other features that require cellularnetwork coverage. You may be able to callthe official emergency numberprogrammed into your device.To makecalls, you must first change to anotherprofile.When the offline profile is activated, youcan still connect to a WLAN to, forexample, read your mail or browse theinternet. You can also use Bluetooth.Remember to comply with any applicablesafety requirements when you establishand use WLAN or Bluetooth connections.Prolong battery lifeIf it seems you're always looking for acharger, there are steps you can take toreduce the power consumption of yourdevice.•Always charge the battery fully.•When power saving mode isactivated, device settings, such asNetwork mode and the screen saver,are optimised.Activate power saving modePress the power key , and selectActivate power saving. To deactivatepower saving mode, press the power key, and select Deactivate powersaving.Close the applications you are notusingPress and hold the menu key, swipe untilthe desired application is displayed, andselect .Sounds, themes, and effects•Mute unnecessary tones, such as keytones.•Use wired headphones, rather thanthe loudspeaker.•Change the length of the time-outperiod after which the device displayswitches off.Set the length of the time-out periodSelect Menu > Settings and Phone >Display > Light time-out.Activate a dark theme and wallpaperSelect Menu > Settings and Themes >General.
