 3299 Tower Drive Newburgh, IN 47630 812.490.1525 www.MatrixTeam.com  MX3-IZ Locator Tester User Manual   Summary The MX3-IZ Locator Tester uses magnetics and RF communications to test the functionality of the MX3-IZ Locator, a crucial device in the Matrix Proximity Detection System. The Locator Tester can operate as a standalone unit or as part of a larger testing assembly.   Cautions and Warnings  For proper operation, only one active Locator Tester should be installed in the same room.  Do no use this equipment near water.  Refer all servicing to the manufacturer. Service is required when the Locator Tester has been damaged in any way, including: o The power cord or plug is damaged. o Liquid is spilled onto the unit. o An object falls onto the unit. o The unit is exposed to rain or excessive moisture. o The unit does not operate normally. o The unit has been dropped.  Only use the power cord provided by the manufacturer with the Locator Tester.   Installation The Locator Tester must be placed at least twelve (12) inches away from all metallic walls, metal cabinets, and other large metal objects to assure proper operation. Failure to do so may yield inaccurate test results. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the Locator Tester to rain or moisture.
 3299 Tower Drive Newburgh, IN 47630 812.490.1525 www.MatrixTeam.com   Use The Locator Tester is ready to test Locators when its screen is blue, the correct serial number and firmware version are displayed, and the screen reads “Tester is ready. Hold button to test”. After initiating the test, follow any onscreen prompts until the test is finished.  In case of a PASSED test, the leftmost light on the Locator will flash green, and the message on the Locator screen will display the message “Tested 0hr ago”. The Locator Tester will display a “Test Passed” message.  In case of a FAILED test, the middle light on the Locator will blink red, and the message on the Locator screen will display the message “Test Needed”. The Locator Tester will display a “Test Failed” message. Return any damaged or malfunctioning Locator Testers to the distributor for replacement.
