In order to handle batteries safely, please observe the following safety instructions: ► Do not throw the batteries into a fire and do not subject them to high temperatures. ► Do not open, deform, or short-circuit batteries, since this can lead to chemical leakage. ► Do not attempt to recharge the batteries. Do not charge batteries unless they are explicitly labeled as "rechargeable". There is a risk of explosion! ► Never heat batteries in order to revive them. ► Check the condition of the batteries at regular intervals. Leaking chemicals can cause permanent damage to the appliance. Take particular care when handling damaged or leaking batteries. Risk of acid burns! Wear protective gloves. ► Chemicals that leak from a battery can cause skin irritation. In the event of contact with the skin, rinse with plenty of water. The indicator LED rlights up briefly, and the current temperature, humidity and selected channel (e.g. CH 1) are shown on the display e. The indicator LED r then lights up once per minute, indi-cating wireless transmission.Using the weather station for the first time ♦ Open the battery compartment 0on the back of the device by removing the battery compartment cover w. ♦ Insert three type AAA batteries as indicated in the battery compartment 0. ♦ Then, close the battery compartment 0. If no outside temperature or humidity is shown within approx. 3 minutes, the weather station stops searching for a signal. The reception icon turns off and the display field for outdoors 3shows and . The system likely cannot detect a signal due to structural conditions or because the sensor is too far away. If you choose the setting , the data is saved permanently until you replace the batteries.Displays in basic modeAfter you have set the time and the weather station has received the signal from the outdoor sensor, the device enters basic mode.In basic mode, the weather station shows the following informa-tion on the display:The time display 2By default, the time is shown in 12-hour format. In the time from 12:00 noon to 11:59 p.m., (Latin for "post meridiem" = afternoon) will appear before the time. The temperature unit (for degrees Fahrenheit) appears on the right. You can also switch the temperature unit to (degrees Celsius).If appears, the station has detected a temperature below the measurement range of 14 °F to 122 °F (-9.9 °C to 50 °C); indicates this range has been exceeded. The relative humidity (RH) measured by the weather station is shown in % above the temperature display. A recommended ventilation time and the indoor climate rating are shown below the temperature.Recommended ventilation timeBased on the temperature and humidity values inside and out-side, the weather station provides a recommendation to open () or close ( ) the window to improve the indoor climate.Indoor climate ratingBased on the humidity value indoors, the weather station catego-rizes the current indoor climate into three levels: Humid. The symbols indicate how ventilating the room would affect the indoor climate:More humid. The expected increase in humidity is 5% or higher.Constant. The expected increase or decrease in humidity is 4% or less.Dryer. The expected decrease in humidity is 5% or higher.The display field for outdoors 3The outside temperature is shown with a precision of a tenth of a degree. The temperature unit (for degrees Fahrenheit) appears on the right. You can also switch the temperature unit to (degrees Celsius).If appears, the station has detected a temperature below the measurement range of –40 °F to 140 °F (–40 °C to 60 °C); indicates this range has been exceeded. The relative humidity (RH) measured by the outdoor sensor is shown in % above the temperature display. AHFL 433 A1US - EN │ 17 ■Displaying the maximum/minimum tempera-ture/humidityAfter connection to the power supply and the outdoor sensor has been established, the maximum and minimum values for temperature and humidity are automatically captured and stored by the weather station. ♦ In basic mode, press the control surface 6 once. In both display fields (3 and 7), the icon appears next to the humidity and the highest measured value for both inside and outside is shown. ♦ If you press the control surface 6 in basic mode, the icon appears and the lowest measured value for both inside and outside is shown. ♦ After about 5 seconds, the current values for inside and outside are automatically shown once more. ♦ Press and hold the control surface 6 for about 3 seconds to delete the stored values.Switching between temperature unitsUpon delivery, the temperature unit is set to degrees Fahrenheit ( ) by default. ♦ In basic mode, press the control surface 5 to switch between temperature units ( or ). Channel 1 is set by default. ♦ Open the battery compartment o on the back of the device by removing the battery compartment cover p. ♦ Choose a channel by moving the channel switch i to CH 1, CH 2 or CH 3. ♦ Press and hold the control surface 4 until the reception icon on the display field for outdoors 3 blinks. ♦ Press the TX button z to manually start the wireless signal for the outdoor sensor. AHFL 433 A1■ 20 │ US - ENSwitching the channel display on the weather stationWhen the weather station has received the signal from the out-door sensor, it automatically shows the corresponding channel. However, you can also manually set the display of the different channels. ♦ Press the control surface 4 repeatedly to switch between displays (only show channel 1), (only show channel 2), (only show channel 3) and (rotate between all channels in a loop). Only the values from outdoor sensors that are connected to the weather station are shown. If you use multiple outdoor sensors, choose a different channel for each outdoor sensor. AHFL 433 A1US - EN │ 21 ■TroubleshootingUnable to connect to the outdoor sensor. ■ There are interfering obstacles or other sources of interfer-ence, such as concrete walls or other wireless transmission devices between the weather station and the outdoor sensor. Move the device to another location and try again. ■ The outdoor sensor is too far away from the weather station. Move the two components closer together. "Visual contact" between the outdoor sensor and weather station often improves transmission. ■ The batteries in the weather station or outdoor sensor are dead. They can attack the surfaces of the device. ♦ Clean the surfaces of the device with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth with a mild cleaning agent.Storage ♦ If you plan on not using the product for a long period, remove the batteries and store it in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight.DisposalDisposal of deviceElectrical devices may not be thrown away as part of normal household trash. Dry-Cell Batteries are used in a variety of electronics and include alkaline and carbon zinc (9-volt, D, C, AA, AAA), mercuric-oxide (button, some cylindrical and rectangular), silver-oxide and zinc-air (button), and lithium (9-volt, C, AA, coin, button, rechargeable) batteries.
