Hi-Speed USB Drive has multiple powerful functions, namely retrieval, copying and deletion of files of any format, fast transmission and exchange of data and files, unlimited application of functions, and a highly secure privacy function. Since Hi-Speed USB Drive is not a heavy burden on you at all, you can always bring it along, to use it readily wherever you go, have access to every computer located anywhere, and always have important data at hand to let you be ahead of your rivals. In short, Hi-Speed USB Drive is an innovative storage device indispensable to daily life.  A. You have to install a driver whenever your operating system is Windows 98.  A. Connecting Hi-Speed USB Drive After you plugged Hi-Speed USB Drive into your PC, Windows automatically creates a letter for your drive and indicates that it is a removable drive. Then, you may begin using the drive just like you use the other drives or floppy disk drive.
 LLGG  UUSSBB  DDrriivvee  After you correctly plug Hi-Speed USB Drive in, the ”removing hardware safely” icon appears in the tool bar at the bottom of the window.   B. Reading / Writing Data or Files Hi-Speed USB Drive is a light, thin, and small portable storage device. With functions similar to those of a hard disk, it allows you to read, write, copy or delete any data or file. But, unlike a hard disk, Hi-Speed USB Drive is so small that you can bring it with you wherever you go.  C. Removing Hi-Speed USB Drive  Warning!   Don’t pull out Hi-Speed USB Drive or remove it from the system while the write / read indicator is flashing. You should do this only when the indicator is off. Under a Window ME or Windows 2000 operating system, you should perform a safe procedure for removal of device before you remove the Hi-Speed USB Drive. If you pull it out or make it exit before it stops, damage may be done to your computer or data stored on your computer may get lost.    After you finished using Hi-Speed USB Drive, you may pull it out. However, under Windows ME、Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you have to perform a safe procedure for removal of device before you remove the Hi-Speed USB Drive. Find a “safe removal of device” icon in the tool bar at the bottom of the window and carry out the safe removal procedure.
 LLGG  UUSSBB  DDrriivveeDouble click on the ”removing hardware safely” icon on the right hand side of the tool bar to bring a ”removing hardware safely” window. To remove a device safely, select the device you want to remove and then click on the Stop button.    After you safely remove the device, a message will appear above the tool bar to inform you that USB Mass Storage Device is safely removed”, then you may remove the device from the USB port with ease.
 LLGG  UUSSBB  DDrriivvee  Main Functions The Secure Privacy Function of DiskSafe A. Creating a Secure Privacy Zone     Warning!                                      Before you proceed to create a secure privacy zone, the computer automatically formats Hi-Speed USB Drive, resulting in the disappearance of all the data you previously stored on the device. Please backup important data stored on the device, before you begin to create the secure privacy zone.   1. Select the secure privacy application of DiskSafe in Hi-Speed USB Drive.  2. When you see the welcome page of DiskSafe, drag the blue block on the Hi-Speed USB Drive upward or downward to set the size of your intended secure privacy zone. The red area indicates the private secure privacy zone, whereas the blue area indicates the unprotected public use zone. After setting the size you need, the next window appears.
 LLGG  UUSSBB  DDrriivvee 3. Enter related data into the window that appears. Click “OK” when finished. A. New Password (required) B. Confirmed Password (required) C. Password Hint (optional)    4. A message appears, saying that a password is set and, on removal of the device, the secure privacy zone will be locked automatically. Then, you should click “OK”.      5. After setting the secure privacy zone, you should click “OK” to confirm the configuration and then you should remove the device and re-plug it into the computer.
 LLGG  UUSSBB  DDrriivvee  B. Using a Secure Privacy Zone  1. To enter a secure privacy zone you created, select DiskSafe software and DiskSafe will generate a Login dialogue box. Enter a password and click “OK” to confirm the password you enter.        2. If you enter a wrong password, a warning message will appear.
 LLGG  UUSSBB  DDrriivvee If you forget the password you set earlier on, you may click on the Hint button at the lower left corner of the Login dialog box to help you recall the password.        3. After successful login, the secure privacy zone springs up automatically. On removal of the device, the secure privacy zone will be locked again.     Warning!                     If an incorrect password is entered six times, Hi-Speed USB Drive will be automatically formatted to lose all the stored data.    C. Changing a Password  The Button for Changing a Password 1.  To change a password you set earlier on, enter the password and click on the Setting button. Before the window for changing a password is displayed, a prompt message appears to tell you that all the data in the disk will be destroyed, and that, if you do not want so, you will have to close the window. Click “OK” to confirm your intention to do so.

Confirmed Password (required) C. Password Hint (optional)    3. A dialog box springs up to inform you that the password has been changed. Click “OK” to confirm the change. On removal of the device, the secure privacy zone is automatically locked.

Once you re-set the size of a secure privacy zone, the computer will automatically format Hi-Speed USB Drive and all the data you previously stored on the device will disappear. Please backup important data stored on the device, before you begin to create the secure privacy zone.    Re-setting the Size of a Secure Privacy Zone  1.  Enter a password and click on the Setting button to go to the DiskSafe main window.
 LLGG  UUSSBB  DDrriivvee  2. Use the dragging bar to set the intended size of a secure privacy zone. A. Password (required) B. New Password (required) C. Confirmed Password (required) D. Password Hint (optional)  3. Click “OK”. A prompt message springs up to ask you whether you want to perform configuration zone by zone. 4. Click “OK”. The updating of the size allocation of Hi-Speed USB Drive begins.  Removing a Secure Privacy Zone 1. Repeat the above-mentioned steps 1 and 2.     2. Use the dragging bar to set the size of the secure privacy zone to zero and remember to enter a password to confirm your identity.     3. Click “OK”. A prompt message appears.    4. Click “OK” and the configuration is done..    E. Privacy Function  Users may set passwords by themselves.        Users may set their hints to avoid forgetting their passwords.  Hi-Speed USB Drive will be automatically formatted to lose all the stored data.
 LLGG  UUSSBB  DDrriivveeImportant Matters    While using Hi-Speed USB Drive and a secure privacy application of DiskSafe, you should use only one Hi-Speed USB Drive product on each occasion, and you should not use two Hi-Speed USB Drive products or more simultaneously.   For Windows 2000 Users’ Attention Since Windows 2000 supports one removable drive only, to use Hi-Speed USB Drive, you have to install the updating software, that is, Windows Service Pack 3 or a later version to ensure that you will see the two sectors you created, that is, the secure privacy zone and public use zone simultaneously while you are using a secure privacy application of DiskSafe.     Frequently Asked Questions  1.  Will a driver have to be installed in order to use Hi-Speed USB Drive? No, you will not have to install any driver. But, you will, if your operating system is WIN98/98SE.  2.  What are the “Do Nots” of using Hi-Speed USB Drive? Like any electronic digital product with which you are familiar, Hi-Speed USB Drive is vulnerable to damp and strong vibration. You should not remove your Hi-Speed USB Drive from a computer while your Hi-Speed USB Drive is working, otherwise you may lose or destroy your data. We shall not assume any liability for any damage done to your Hi-Speed USB Drive for the above reason or because you try to repair it on your own.  3.  What operating systems allow the use of Hi-Speed USB Drive? At present, Hi-Speed USB Drive always supports WIN98. However, Hi-Speed USB Drive is unable to work under WIN NT and WIN95, as neither of them supports a USB interface.  4.  What files can be stored on Hi-Speed USB Drive? Like a general storage device, Hi-Speed USB Drive can store files of any kind, from general documents to audiovisual files. We recommend that you should use anti-virus software to prevent infection.  5.  Is it necessary to shut down my computer before installing Hi-Speed USB Drive? No, it is not necessary. Since Hi-Speed USB Drive is a plug and play device, you may plug it in or pull it out, whether your computer is on.
 LLGG  UUSSBB  DDrriivvee6.  What computers can use Hi-Speed USB Drive? You can use Hi-Speed USB Drive, provided that you computer is equipped with a USB slot. (After 1997, computers are mostly equipped with USB slots, and a USB slot is indispensable to a computer in recent years.)  7.  Why the operating temperature of the Hi-Speed USB Drive I purchased is particularly high? The Hi-Speed USB Drive you purchased must be of the latest model, i.e.USB2.0 compliant. The transmission speed of USB2.0 compliant Hi-Speed USB Drive is 40 times that of USB1.1 compliant Hi-Speed USB Drive, thus the operating temperature of the former is greater than that of the latter. Hence, the Hi-Speed USB Drive you purchased is functioning normally.
