  THE EDGE MINI TABLET QUICK START GUIDE   Thank you for purchasing The Edge Mini Tablet! The following is a quick start set-up guide to help you through the initial configuration. This will personalize the tablet for you according to the guidelines of the facility where you are located. Please read Important Safety Reminders and Warranty Information before using the tablet.   SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS  Charge Battery Pack (Lithium Ion model)   The Edge Mini Tablet will sync on the charge currently available in the Lithium Ion battery. Plug the AC Power Adapter in to The Edge Mini Tablet MicroUSB Port and then into a standard 110V power socket to begin charging. The red charge indicator light on the battery will illuminate while charging. When battery charging is complete, the red charge indicator light will shut off.   Install Batteries (Alkaline model)   Locate and remove the battery cover on the back of the tablet. To remove the cover, press the Arrow Tab situated on the battery cover and gently lift up the cover. Install four (4) AA Alkaline batteries according to the picture inscribed at the bottom of the battery tray that indicates the positive (+) and negative (-) direction of the batteries. The batteries must be installed properly for the tablet to operate.   Turn on your Tablet   Power up The Edge Mini Tablet by pressing and holding the Power Button, located on the side of the tablet ONE TIME for five (5) seconds. The device may take several seconds to boot up—PRESSING THE POWER BUTTON MORE THAN ONCE WILL TURN OFF YOUR TABLET AND INTERRUPT THE BOOTUP PROCESS. During the initial boot-up, The Edge Mini Tablet animation will play.
SYNC WITH KIOSK   Connect The Edge Mini Tablet to the kiosk. Carefully line up the connection cord to the MicroUSB Port on your tablet and gently make the connection. NEVER DISCONNECT YOUR TABLET DURING AN ACTIVE CONNECTION. Congratulations! Once the session is complete and you have disconnected your tablet, you are ready to begin using The Edge Mini Tablet. You now have access to millions of songs from today’s top performers to the classics of yesterday, as well as, messaging, learning tools, games, shopping and image browsing. *   *Please check to see if all of The Edge Mini Tablet features are approved for use in your facility
                                                           SAFETY REMINDERS   Using your earbuds at high volume can be dangerous and/or damage your hearing. Keep the volume at a moderate level so you are able to hear outside sound. Please exercise extreme caution and discontinue use in potentially hazardous situations.   Warranty Information:   The Edge Mini Tablet should provide you with trouble-free performance. To keep The Edge Mini Tablet in good operational order, please note the following:   - Warranty expirations vary by correctional institution. Please check with your facility for the warranty agreement.   - The Edge Mini Tablet IS NOT WATERPROOF! Keep it away from sinks, showers, rain and other sources of moisture. Tablets that show signs of water damage will not be warranted.   - DO NOT disassemble your tablet. Disassembling it will permanently damage the tablet and void the warranty.   - Treat The Edge Mini Tablet as a fragile electronic device. Do not drop or bang it against any object or surface. Always treat the earbud, kiosk, and keyboard ports with great care. Tablets that exhibit signs of damage or misuse will not be considered for warranty replacement.   - DO NOT twist or apply pressure to the plastic case, as this may disrupt the Touch Screen. Any cracks or damage to the screen will be considered physical damage that is not covered under warranty.
