IntroductionThank you for purchasing your AP-201 11Mbps Wireless LAN Access Point. Thismanual will assist you with the installation procedure for AP-201.The package you have received should contain the following items:• User manual• Access Point• Power adapter• RJ45 cable•  Wall hanging baseNote: if anything is missing, please contact your vendorA wireless LAN is normally used in a predefined environment. In such a network,Access Points are mounted at assigned places, each covering its own area inwhich wireless nodes can operate. These Access Points are connected to a wirednetwork to communicate with each other and with servers and clients on thatnetwork.The AP-201 Access Point can be connected to a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet networkthrough a RJ45 (UTP) connector.

Hardware InstallationPlace the AP-201To place the AP-201 on the desktop or setup the metal base on the wall tohang the Ap-201. Make sure the antennas are in a vertical position (if not,rotate over 90 degrees).                          Connecting the AC Adapter21.  To remove the cover on the right side of AP-201.2.  Connect the power cord to an electrical outlet.3.  Plug the AC adapter power cable into the DC-IN jack on the right side ofAP-201.4.  When the AC adapter is conncted to AC power, the POWER LED will be on.Connecting the RJ45 Cable1.  Connect RJ45 cable to an wall outlet.2.  Plug another side into the RJ45 jack on the right side of AP-2013.  When the RJ45 cable is conncted, the LINK LED will be on.

Configuring Your ComputerConfigure TCP/IP SettingsAfter you have completed the hardware setup by connecting your devices, youneed to configure your computer to connect to your AP-201 Access Point. Youneed to determine how your ISP issues your IP address. Many ISPs issue thesenumbers automatically using a networking technology known as Dynamic HostControl Protocol, or DHCP. Other ISPs will specify your IP address and associatednumbers, which you must enter manually. . This is also known as a static IPaddress. How your ISP assigns your IP address determines how you will configureyour computer.1. From the Windows desktop, click the ”Start,” button. Choose “Settings,”then click “Control Panel.”

From “Control Panel,” double-click the “Network” icon.3. In the “Network” window, under the “Configuration” tab, double-clickthe ”TCP/IP” entry that is listed with your network card.

Select the “IP Address” tab. Verify that your IP Address is 10.2.147.50, yourSubnet Mask is 255.255.0.0 and click OK.5.  In the “Command Prompt” windows, type ”c:\>ping 10.150.35.006. Return Windows Operating System. Run “Internet Explorer” and typeaddress  http://10.150.35.200. If success connecting, there will jump aidentifying window to ask your User’s ID and Password. Key in the correctID and Password and click OK to enter the AP-201 Manager.* The default is “ID:root, Password:root.”
