You will needto purchase 2 x UM-4 (AAA) 1.5V alkaline batteries forthe main unit, and 2 x UM-4 (AAA) 1.5V alkaline batteriesfor the remote sensor.Insert batteries before first use, matching the polarity asshown in the battery compartment. For best results, installbatteries in the remote sensor before the main unit. PressRESET after each battery change.Do not use rechargeable batteries.NOTE shows when batteries are low.UNIT LOCATIONMain Indoor Temperature / AreaRemote Outdoor Temperature / AreaREMOTE SENSOR (THR122NX)This product is shipped with a THR122NX ThermoSensor that collects Temperature data. Data can becollected from only 1 sensor.
EN7SETUP SENSOR1. Open the remote sensor battery compartment witha small Phillips screwdriver.2. Insert the batteries, matching the polarity as shownin the battery compartment.3. Selec any channel.4. Place the sensor near the main unit. Press RESETon the sensor. Then, press and hold SEARCH onthe main unit to initiate signal sending between thesensor and the main unit. The reception icon onthe main unit will blink for approximately 3 minuteswhile it is searching for the sensor. (Refer to theData Transmission section for more information.)5. Close the remote sensor battery compartment.6. Secure the sensor in the desired location using thewall mount or table stand. For best results:•Insert the batteries and select the channel beforeyou mount the sensor.•Place the sensor out of direct sunlight andmoisture.•Do not place the sensor more than 98 feet(30meters) from the main (indoor) unit.•Position the sensor so that it faces the main(indoor) unit, minimizing obstructions such asdoors, walls, and furniture.•Place the sensor in a location with a clear viewto the sky, away from metallic or electronicobjects.•Position the sensor close to the main unit duringcold winter months as below-freezingtemperatures may affect battery performance andsignal transmission. You may need to experiment with various locations toget the best results.Standard Alkaline batteries contain signifcant amountsof water. Because of this they will freeze in lowtemperatures of approximately 10ºF. Disposable Lithiumbatteries have a much lower threshold for temperaturewith an estimated freezing range of below -40ºF. TheLiquid Crystal Display in outdoor thermometers willremain operational to -20ºF with adequate power.Wireless ranges can be impacted by a variety of factorssuch as extremely cold temperatures. Extreme cold maytemporarily reduce the effective range between thesensor and the base station. If the unit's performance fails due to low temperature, the unit will resume proper functioning as thetemperature rises to within the normal temperature range(i.e no permanent damage will occur to the unit due tolow temperatures).
8TEMPERATUREThis product can display current, minimum, and maximumtemperatures collected by the remote sensor and main(indoor) unit.Outdoor data is collected and displayed every 80seconds. Indoor data is collected and displayed every10 seconds.SELECT TEMPERATURE UNITPress the ºC / ºF switch into the desired location. Theswitch is located in the main unit battery compartment. The setting for the main unit overrides the remote sensorsetting.MINIMUM / MAXIMUM RECORDSPress MEMORY to toggle between current, maximum(MAX) and minimum (MIN) records. To clear the records, press and hold MEMORY for 2 seconds. A beep willsound to confirm that the memory has been cleared.SEARCH FOR SENSORTo search for a sensor, press and hold SEARCH for2 seconds. If the sensor is still not found, check thebatteries, obstructions, and remote unit location.Signals from household devices such asdoorbells, electronic garage doors, and home securitysystems may cause temporary reception failure. Thisis normal and does not affect general productperformance. The reception will resume once theinterference ends.DATA TRANSMISSIONData is sent from the sensor every 80 seconds. Thereception icon shown in the Outdoor TemperatureArea shows the status.--- shows in OutdoorTemp AreaICON DESCRIPTIONMain unit is searching forsensor.A channel has been found.Channel 1 is selectedThe selected sensor cannotbe found.
