2 The figure above shows the appearance of your phone and is provided only for your reference. Keys and Functions Press… To…  Make a call from the SIM card 1 or 2 in standby mode.  Answer a call.  View call logs of SIM card 1 and 2 in standby mode.  Power the phone on or off (press and hold the key for about 3s).  End or reject a call.  Return to standby mode.  Access the main menu in standby mode.  Select a highlighted item.  Access Contacts in standby mode.  Return to the previous screen. 5 Icon Indicates… A microSD card installed. Headset connected. Features marked with "optional" are optional. These features may vary according to your service provider. 2 Getting Started Installing SIM Cards and the Battery You can install two Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards in the phone at the same time. When inserting a SIM card, ensure that the golden contact area on the SIM card is facing downward and that the beveled edge of the SIM card is properly aligned with that of the SIM card slot. Removing the Battery and SIM Cards Before removing the battery and SIM cards, ensure that your phone is powered off.
6 Installing a microSD Card Before installing or removing a microSD card, power the phone off. When powered back on, the phone indicates whether the microSD card has been correctly installed. You can expand your phone's memory capacity by installing a microSD card. When installing a microSD card, ensure that the gold contact area faces down. Charging the Battery To charge the battery: 1. Connect the charger to the phone's charger jack. 2. Connect the charger to a power outlet. 3. Allow the battery to fully charge. When the battery is charging, the charging icon blinks. When the charging icon stops blinking, the battery is fully charged.
7 4. Disconnect the charger from the power outlet and then from the phone. Working with the Main Menu 1. In standby mode, press (Menu) to access the main menu. 2. Press to scroll to the desired submenu, and press to access the submenu. 3. Press or to scroll to an option, and press (OK) or to select the option. 4. Press (Back) to return to the previous screen or to return to the standby mode. Automatically Switching Between Profiles You can set your phone to activate different profiles at different times. The phone can automatically switch between profiles up to a maximum of three times a day. To automatically switch between profiles: 1. Select Menu > Settings > User profiles > Profile Switch Timing. 2. Scroll to a time, and press (Edit) to select the profile to be activated at the specified time. 3. Press (Done) to save the settings.
8 Mass Storage When you have connected your phone to a computer using the USB cable, Mass storage is displayed on the phone screen. Select Mass storage to manage the files stored in the phone memory or on the microSD card using the computer's file manager application. The phone memory and its microSD card are displayed as removable disks on the computer. You can perform the following operations: 1. Double-click a disk to open it. 2. Copy, paste or delete files on a disk. 3. Disconnect the phone from the PC.  Ensure that you connect and disconnect the USB cable correctly.  Do not run the formatting command on the computer to format the phone memory; doing so may permanently damage the phone memory.  You can transfer data and charge the battery by connecting the phone to the computer with the USB cable. 3 Voice Services Dual-Card Management Your phone supports dual-card dual-standby mode, but the two SIM cards cannot be used simultaneously. When you are making a call or using data services with one SIM card, the other SIM card becomes unavailable, that is, no incoming calls can be received and the data services cannot be used.
9 Making a Call 1. In standby mode, enter the phone number.  To make an international call, press to enter the plus sign (+), and then enter the country or region code, area code, and phone number.  To call an extension, enter the switchboard number, press to enter P, press and then to enter W, and enter the extension number. 2. Press to dial the number. 3. Press to end the call.  You can also make calls from call logs, contacts, or messages.  During a call, you can press or to adjust the in-call volume. Answering a Call When you receive an incoming call:  Press to answer the call.  Press (Answer) to answer the call.  Press to reject the call.
10  Press (Silent) to mute the ringtone, and press (Reject) to reject the call.  Press (Silent) to mute the ringtone, press (Answer) to answer the call. If the Any key answer function is enabled, you can press any key except and to answer a call. 4 Text Input Changing the Text Input Mode The current text input mode indicator is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. You can press to switch between text input modes. Indicator Text Input Mode abc Multi-tap input mode eZi abc Predictive input mode 123 Number input mode  Press (Clear) or once to delete the last entered character. You can also press and hold (Clear) to delete all the characters entered.  In any text input mode, press to start a new paragraph.
11 Multi-Tap Input Mode In multi-tap input mode, press the key labeled with the desired letter. Predictive Input Mode To enter a word in predictive input mode: 1. Press each key once according to the spelling sequence of the desired word. The phone displays candidate words. 2. Press or to scroll left or right, and press or to turn pages. 3. Press to enter the word. Number Input Mode In number mode, press the key labeled with the desired digit. Entering Symbols To enter a symbol with the QWERTY keypad in any input mode: Using to Enter a Symbol  To enter only one symbol, press once and then the key labeled with the desired symbol.  To enter multiple symbols, press twice and then the keys labeled with the desired symbols. Using to Enter a Symbol 1. Press to display the symbol list.
12 2. Press or to scroll left or right, and press or to scroll up or down. 3. Press to select the desired symbol. 5 Messaging Writing and Sending a Text Message 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Messages > Write message. 2. Write the message. 3. Press (Options), and select Send to. 4. Select Enter recipient, and enter the recipient's phone number; or select Add from Phonebook and add a recipient from the phonebook. To add multiple recipients, repeat this step. 5. Once the recipient or recipients have been added, and press to send the message or press (Options) for the following options:  Send: send the message to the recipient or recipients.  Save: save the message to Drafts and exit the message editing screen.  From SIM1 or From SIM2: select the SIM card that you want to use to send or save the message. Writing and Sending a Multimedia Message 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Messages > Write message.
13 2. Write the message.  Press (Options), if you select Add picture, Add sound, Add video, or Add subject, the message automatically changes from a text message to a multimedia message. You can also select Switch to MMS to change from a text message to a multimedia message. 3. On the message editing screen, press , or press (Options) and select Send to. 4. Select Enter recipient to enter the recipients' phone numbers, or select Add from Phonebook to add the desired recipients from the phonebook. 5. Once the recipient has been added, press to immediately send the message, or press (Options) for the following options:  Send: send the message. Select From SIM1 or From SIM2 to select the SIM card that you want to use to send the message.  Change to Cc: copy the message to the recipient.  Change to Bcc: blind copy the message to the recipient.  Save to Drafts: save the message to Drafts.  You can contact your service provider to determine the availability of the Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and the method for subscribing to the service.  Your phone supports a multimedia message up to 300 KB.  Open multimedia messages with caution. Objects in multimedia messages may contain viruses and malicious software that can damage your phone.
14 6 Phonebook Creating a Contact 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Contacts > Add new contact. 2. Select To SIM1/SIM2 or To Phone for saving the contact. 3. Enter the contact information, press . 4. When prompted, press (Yes). Searching for a Contact 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Contacts. 2. Enter the first letter of the contact name in the search box. 3. Press or to scroll to the desired contact. Setting the Preferred Storage You can set the storage where you want to save new contacts. 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Contacts. 2. Press (Options), and select Phonebook settings > Preferred storage. 3. Scroll to SIM1, SIM2, Phone, or All as desired. 4. Press (OK). Copying Contacts You can copy contacts to the phone, SIM 1 card or SIM 2 card.
15 Copying One Contact 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Contacts. 2. Press or to scroll to the desired contact. 3. Press (Options), and select Copy. 4. Select To Phone, To SIM1, To SIM2, or To file to copy the contact to the desired location. Copying All Contacts 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Contacts. 2. Press (Options), and select Phonebook settings > Copy contacts. 3. Press or to scroll to the desired option, such as From Phone or From SIM1/SIM2. 4. Press (OK) to copy all contacts to the desired location. 7 Multimedia Camera The phone is equipped with a digital camera. 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Multimedia > Camera. 2. On the viewfinder screen:  Press (Options) to view pictures or configure the camera settings.  Press or to adjust the exposure value.
16  Press or to zoom in or zoom out. 3. Focus the camera and press to take a picture. 4. Press (Back) to return to the viewfinder; or press (Options) and select Delete to delete the picture. Only image resolution is 160*128 can be set to wallpaper. Audio Player The audio player plays audio files stored in My music in the phone memory or on the microSD card. If you want to listen to audio with enhanced quality sound, use the headset provided. 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Multimedia > Audio player; or press in standby mode to access Audio player. 2. Press to start playing audio files. When playing audio files:  Press and to adjust the volume.  Press and to switch between audio files.  Press the button on the headset cable to switch between audio files.  Press (List) to view the audio file list, and press (Options) to configure the relevant settings. 3. Press to pause or continue.
17 FM Radio Your phone is equipped with a built-in antenna, so you can listen to radio programs though the loudspeaker. If the headset is included in the product package, you can also use the headset to listen to the FM radio. 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Multimedia > FM radio. 2. When listening to the radio:  Press to pause or continue.  Press and to adjust the volume.  Press or to switch between channels.  Press a number key to switch to the corresponding channel in Channel list.  Press (Options) to view or edit the channel list, manually set a frequency, record an audio clip, append a new audio clip to an existing one, automatically search for and save channels, and configure the relevant settings. 8 Services You can access Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) sites and use WAP-based services on your phone. To access WAP sites, you must subscribe to the corresponding service from your service provider and set the relevant parameters on your phone. For details about the service and the charges, contact your service provider.
18 Network Network Settings Before accessing WAP sites, create your data account and configure WAP parameters. To set the connection profile: 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Data account. 2. Press (Options), and select Add PS account. 3. Edit Account name, APN, User name, Password, Auth.type, SIM selection and Advanced settings (such as Homepage, Connection type, IP address). Set the parameters based on the information provided by your service provider. 4. Press (OK) to save the settings. If the data account provided by your service provider is already set up on your phone, you do not need to create a new data account. To setting the WAP profile: 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Services > Internet services > Settings > Data account. 2. Select SIM1 or SIM2. 3. Select your service provider, and press (OK) to select a data account. Selecting which SIM Card to connect to the Internet If dual-SIM mode is enabled, you must select which SIM card to use when connecting to the Internet.
19 To select a SIM card: 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Services > Internet services > Settings > Select profile. 2. Scroll to SIM1, SIM2, or Always ask as desired. 3. Press (OK) to select the SIM card. Opening a Webpage 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Services > Internet services > Search or input URL. 2. Enter a Uniform Resource Locator (URL). 3. Press to open the webpage. It is recommended that you clear cache regularly to ensure a better browsing experience. STK The SIM Tool Kit (STK) function is provided only by some service providers. It allows you to send text messages, read news, and use other applications. For details, contact your service provider. Facebook (optional) The built-in social networking service (SNS) application Facebook on your phone allow you to send instant messages and files any time. Check that your phone has Internet access before you using the chat application. To use Facebook: 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Services > Facebook. 2. Enter your registered email address and password.
20 9 Bluetooth (optional) Bluetooth enables you to exchange data with other Bluetooth devices and use a Bluetooth headset. Using a Bluetooth Headset No Bluetooth headset is included in the product package. 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth > Power. Then select On to enable Bluetooth. 2. Select Search audio device to search for Bluetooth headsets in range. 3. Select the desired Bluetooth headset, and press (Pair). 4. When a Bluetooth device is connected to the phone for the first time, you need to enter a pairing password for verification. Enter the password to pair with the Bluetooth headset. After the phone is connected to the headset, a headset icon is displayed on the standby screen. Transferring Data 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Bluetooth Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth > Power. Then select On to enable Bluetooth. 2. Select My device > Search new device to search for Bluetooth devices in range. 3. Pair the phone with the desired device.
21 4. After pairing your phone with another Bluetooth device, you can begin exchanging data with it. 10 File Manager You can use File manager to organize files stored on your phone and microSD card. You can view photos, listen to music and read ebooks from File manager. 11 Tools and Games Alarm The Alarm application lets you set five alarms or modify existing alarms. You can set the alert time, repetition, and ring type. Once an alarm has been set, the alarm icon is displayed on the notification panel. Calculator The Calculator application lets you perform basic arithmetic operations. Calendar The Calendar application lets you add events to the calendar and keep track of them.
22 Ebook Reader Your phone supports ebooks in .txt format. 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Too ls > Ebook reader to display the bookshelf. The phone automatically adds ebooks stored in Ebook on the microSD card to the bookshelf. 2. Scroll to the desired ebook. 3. Press (Options), and then select Open ebook to start reading the ebook. You can also press (Options), and then select Global settings to configure settings such as Font size, Scroll by and Brightness. 4. Press (Back) to stop reading.  When reading an ebook, press and to turn pages.  It is recommended that you store ebooks in Ebook on the microSD card. Electronic Torch The electronic torch light the desired scene. Press (On) to turn on the torch. Games For your entertainment, your phone comes pre-installed with game. In standby mode, select Menu > Fun & Games > Games > Games settings to set the Sound effect and Volume.
23 Stopwatch Your phone equips with Typical stopwatch and nWay stopwatch. Select a type of stopwatch to measure time. Task The Tasks application lets you view, add, edit, and delete tasks. Once a task is added, the phone rings at the user-defined time to remind you of that specific task. 12 Security Settings Phone Lock The phone lock protects your phone from unauthorized use. The preset password to unlock your phone is 1234. By default, the phone lock is disabled. Once the phone lock is enabled, you are required to enter the password each time you power on the phone. To enable the phone lock: 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Settings > Security settings > Phone security > Phone lock. 2. Enter the password, and press (OK). To change the password: 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Settings > Security settings > Phone security > Change password. 2. Enter the old password and press (OK).
24 3. Enter a new password and press (OK). The password must be a numeric string between four and eight digits. 4. Enter the new password again to confirm it. If you forget the password, contact your service provider. PIN and PUK The personal identification number (PIN) protects your SIM card from unauthorized use. If you incorrectly enter the PIN a specified number of times, the PIN is blocked and the phone prompts you to enter the PIN unblocking key (PUK). If you incorrectly enter the PUK a specified number of times, the SIM card will become permanently invalid, and you must contact your service provider for a new SIM card. Both the PIN and the PUK are provided with the SIM card. For details, contact your service provider. The lock for each SIM card must be configured separately. To enable the PIN lock: 1. In standby mode, select Menu > Settings > Security settings > SIM1or SIM2 security > PIN lock. 2. Enter the PIN and press (OK). Locking and Unlocking the Keypad To lock the keypad, press and hold in standby mode for 3s. To unlock the keypad, press (Unlock) and then (OK).
25 If the Auto keypad lock function is enabled, the phone will automatically lock the keypad after being idle in standby mode for a preset period. To enable the Auto keypad lock function, select Menu > Settings > Security settings > Auto keypad lock in stand mode, scroll to a period, and press (OK) to select the period. When the keypad is locked, you can press to answer a call or make an emergency call. 13 Warnings and precautions This section contains important information about the operation of your device. It also contains information about how to use the device safely. Read this information carefully before using your device. Electronic device Power off your device when use is prohibited. Do not use the device if doing so causes danger or interference with other electronic devices. Accessories  Using an unapproved or incompatible charger or battery may cause fire, explosion or other hazards.  Choose only batteries, chargers, and accessories approved for use with this model by the device manufacturer. The use of any other types of batteries, chargers, or accessories may void the warranty, may violate local regulations and laws, and may be dangerous.
26 Please contact your retailer for information about the availability of approved batteries, chargers, and accessories in your area. Charger safety  Unplug the charger from electrical outlets and the device when not in use.  Do not drop or cause an impact to the charger.  Do not touch the power cord with wet hands or pull the power cord to disconnect the charger.  If the power cable is damaged (for example, the cord is exposed or broken), or the plug loosens, stop using it at once. Continued use may lead to electric shocks, short circuits, or fire.  If your device has been exposed to water, other liquids, or excessive moisture, take it to an authorized service center for inspection.  Connect the device only to products with the USB-IF logo or with USB-IF compliance program completion.  For pluggable devices, the socket-outlet shall be installed near the devices and shall be easily accessible. Battery safety  Do not connect battery poles with conductors, such as keys, jewelry, or other metal materials. Doing so may short-circuit the battery and cause injuries or burns.  Do not solder battery poles or dismantle the battery. Doing so may lead to electrolyte leakage, excessive heat, fire, or explosion.  Do not attempt to modify or remanufacture the battery, insert foreign objects into it, or immerse or expose it to water or other liquids. Doing so may lead to fire, explosion, or other hazards.  Keep the battery away from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Do not place it on or in heating devices, such as microwave ovens, stoves, or radiators. Batteries may explode if overheated.  If the battery leaks, ensure that the electrolyte does not make direct contact with your skins or eyes. If the electrolyte touches
27 your skins or splashes into your eyes, immediately flush with clean water and consult a doctor.  In case of battery deformation, color change, or overheating while charging or storing, immediately stop using the device and remove the battery. Continued use may lead to battery leakage, fire, or explosion.  Do not put batteries in fire as they may explode. Damaged batteries may also explode.  Do not drop the device or battery. If the device or battery is dropped, especially on a hard surface, and may be damaged, take it to an authorized service center for inspection.  Improper battery use may lead to fire, explosion, or other hazards.  Dispose of used batteries in accordance with local regulations.  Do not smash or pierce the battery, or expose it to high external pressure. Doing so may lead to a short circuit or overheating.  If the device standby and talk time shortens significantly, replace the battery. Operating environment  Avoid dusty, damp, or dirty environments. Avoid magnetic fields. Using or charging your device in these environments may result in circuit malfunctions.  Do not use your device during thunderstorms to protect your device against any danger caused by lightning.  Observe local laws and regulations, and respect the privacy and legal rights of others.  Avoid touching the antenna when you are on a call. Touching the antenna affects call quality, increases power consumption, and reduces talk and standby time.  Ideal operating temperatures are 0 °C to 40 °C. Ideal storage temperatures are 0 °C to 40 °C. Extreme heat or cold may damage your device or accessories.  Do not expose your device to direct sunlight (such as on a car dashboard) for prolonged periods.
28  Do not place your device or batteries on or in heating devices, such as microwave ovens, stoves, water heaters, or radiators. Batteries may explode if overheated.  Stop using your device or applications for a while if the device is overheated. If skin is exposed to an overheated device for an extended period, low temperature burn symptoms, such as red spots and darker pigmentation, may occur.  If your device has a camera flash, do not use it directly in the eyes of people or pets. Otherwise temporary loss of vision or damage to the eyes may occur.  Do not allow children or pets to bite or suck the device or battery. Doing so may result in damage or explosion. Protecting your hearing when using a headset  To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.  Using a headset at high volumes may damage your hearing. To reduce this risk, lower the headset volume to a safe and comfortable level.  Exposure to high volumes while driving may cause distraction and increase your risk of an accident. Child's safety  Comply with all precautions with regard to child's safety. Letting children play with the device or its accessories may be dangerous. The device includes detachable parts that may present a choking hazard. Keep away from children.  The device and its accessories are not intended for use by children. Children should only use the device with adult supervision. Interference with medical equipment  Follow rules and regulations set forth by hospitals and health care facilities. Do not use your device where prohibited.  Pacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum distance of 15 cm be maintained between a device and a pacemaker to
29 prevent potential interference with the pacemaker. If using a pacemaker, hold the device on the side opposite the pacemaker and do not carry the device in your front pocket.  Some wireless devices may affect the performance of hearing aids or pacemakers. Consult your service provider for more information. Areas with flammables and explosives  Do not use the device where flammables or explosives are stored (in a gas station, oil depot, or chemical plant, for example). Using your device in these environments increases the risk of explosion or fire. In addition, follow the instructions indicated in text or symbols.  Do not store or transport the device in containers with flammable liquids, gases, or explosives. Traffic security Observe local laws and regulations while using the device. If using the device while driving a vehicle, observe the following guidelines:  Concentrate on driving. Your first responsibility is to drive safely.  Do not hold the device while driving. Use hands-free accessories.  When you must make or answer a call, pull of the road safely and park the vehicle first.  RF signals may affect the electronic systems of motor vehicles. For more information, consult the vehicle manufacturer.  Do not place the device over the air bag or in the air bag deployment area in a motor vehicle. Doing so may hurt you because of the strong force when the air bag inflates.  Do not use your device while flying in an aircraft. Power off your device before boarding. Using wireless devices in an aircraft may disrupt wireless networks, present a hazard to aircraft operation, or be illegal.
30 Cleaning and maintenance  Before you clean or maintain the device, power it off, and disconnect it from the charger.  Do not use any chemical detergent, powder, or other chemical agents (such as alcohol and benzene) to clean the device or charger. These substances may cause damage to parts or present a fire hazard. Use a clean, soft, and dry cloth to clean the device and charger.  Keep the device and accessories dry. Protect them from water and humidity. Do not touch the device or the charger with wet hands. Doing so may lead to short circuits, malfunctions, or electric shocks.  Avoid collision, which may lead to battery leakage, device malfunctions, overheating, fire, or explosion.  Do not place magnetic storage media, such as magnetic cards and floppy disks, near the device. Radiation from the device may erase the information on magnetic storage media.  Do not expose your device, battery, or charger to extreme heat or cold. These environments may interfere with proper function and may lead to fire or explosion. Battery performance is affected at temperatures lower than 0°C.  Do not place sharp metal objects, such as pins, near the earpiece or speaker. The earpiece may attract these objects and result in injury.  Do not dismantle the device or accessories. This voids the warranty and releases the manufacturer from liability for damage.  If the device screen is broken in a collision, immediately stop using the device. Do not touch or attempt to remove the broken parts. Promptly contact an authorized service center. Emergency calls The availability of emergency calls is subject to your cellular network quality, service provider policy, and local laws and regulations. Never
31 rely solely on your device for critical communications like medical emergencies. Environmental protection  The device and its accessories, including but not limited to the power adapter, headset, and battery (if included) should not be disposed of with household garbage.  Disposal of the device and its accessories is subject to local regulations. Support proper collection and recycling. FCC Regulatory Compliance Body worn operation The device complies with RF specifications when used near your ear or at a distance of 1.5 cm from your body. Ensure that the device accessories, such as a device case and device holster, are not composed of metal components. Keep the device away from your body to meet the distance requirement.
