The battery containsflammable material such as lithium andorganic solvent that can cause the batteryto ignite, heat or explode when it ishandled improperly.• Insulate the battery with tape beforedisposing or storing the battery for aprolonged period of time. Contact withanother metal or battery will cause it toignite or explode. CAUTION• Take care not to drop the transmitter onthe floor and not to strike it against ahard material, either. It can destroy thecrystal transmitter inside the transmittercausing the transmitter malfunction.• Do not use the benzine, thinner andchemical cloth to clean the transmitter. Wipe it with a softcloth dampened with neutral detergent and watersolution, then wipe it with a dry cloth to clean.• Do not operate the transmitter under the direct sunlight,in a damp and/or extremely hot/cold place. Avoid theseplaces to store the transmitter.Working temperature:-20°C to +60°C (-4°F to 140°F)• Though this transmitter is waterresistant lightly, do not operate andstore it in a place where it is splashedwith water directly. It can cause thetransmitter malfunction.• Store the transmitter out of reach ofchildren.• Store the batteries out of reach ofchildren. If it is accidentally swallowed bya child, give him/her medical treatmentimmediately. Failure of prompt medicaltreatment will be very dangerous for thelife of the child.
8© Honda Access Corp. 2005Battery PowerUse the remote control transmitter onlywhen necessary.Every time a button is pressed, the remotecontrol is consuming battery power. If battery is low on power, the transmittingrange of the remote control will be affected.Check battery periodically and replace itwhen necessary. In Case of LossIf one of your remote control transmitters is ever lost, contactyour local Honda dealer for a replacement. Your system will bereprogrammed to prevent the lost remote control transmitterfrom operating your system. In this case, take all the otherremote control transmitters to have them reprogrammed. If you own extra remotes, bring it all to the dealer forreprogramming.ADVICERemote Control RangeSeveral factors affect andreduce remote controlrange. Among these are:1. Proximity to buildingsand automobiles.2. Proximity to high powertransmitters (television, radio, cellular, HAMradio, etc.).3. When the batterybecomes weak, theremote control rangebecomes short.Car construction and the surrounding environment causereflected waves that may interfere with the low power RFsignal transmitted by the remote control. This interferencemay result in “dead spots” around the car; places whereremote control signals will not be accepted by the main unit.5412010K 5412050KPrecautions <For Safety (Transmitter)>
