  3 2  Introduction 2.1 Phone Display
  4 2.2 Key Key Function   Pick-Up  Press to answer a call or dial a call after you enter a phone number. In idle mode, press to view the call log. Hang-Up  Press to end a call. Press and hold to turn the phone on/off. Within a menu, press to return to idle mode. Left Soft Key In idle mode, press to enter the Menu. Press to access the option listed directly above it on the display. Right Soft Key In idle mode, press to access the Phonebook list. Press to access the option listed directly above it on the display. Within a menu, press to return to the previous screen.   OK Within a menu, press to confirm and/or select the option listed above it. Numeric key  Press to enter the corresponding number, letter or symbol located on the key. Within a menu, press to access the corresponding menu option.   * Press the * Key twice quickly to enter ‘+’ to make an international call. Press and hold the * key to toggle between *, +, P, and W. Press to enter symbol when editing text. #  In idle mode, press and hold to toggle between Silent mode and general mode. Press to switch input modes when entering text. Navigation Key Within a menu, press up, down, left or right to scroll through menu options. In idle mode, press left to enter Phonebook; press right to enter Fun & Games; press up to access
  5 Messages; press down to enter STK.    Note: “Press” in this manual, means to press and release the key; “press and hold” means to press and hold the key for at least 2 seconds.  2.3 Icons & Symbols In idle mode, network and battery icons are displayed all the time. The rest of the icons appear if the feature is available and do not appear if the feature is unavailable. If the network symbol is not displayed, the network is currently unavailable. You may be in a bad reception area moving to a different location may help. Icon Description  Network - The left portion indicates whether your phone is already registered with a network and the right portion indicates signal strength (from no signal to strongest).  Battery - Indicates battery level. When charging, a scrolling icon will be displayed. The more bars, the stronger the charge.  Message - Indicates you have one or more unread messages.  Missed call - Indicates there is a missed call.  Call Divert - Indicates that “Divert All Voice Calls” is activated.
  6  Alarm-Indicates that the alarm clock is on.  Headset-Indicates that headset profile is activated.  Indicates your phone is locked.  Alert type is “Ring”.  Indicates your phone uses the alert type of “Vibrate and ring”.  Indicates your phone uses the alert type of “Vibrate then ring”.  Indicates your phone uses the alert type of “Vibrate”.  Indicates your phone has logged onto GPRS.  Push message-Indicates that you have received new push message.  Voicemail- Indicates voice messages that have not been heard.
  7 3  Getting Started Please read the safety instructions in the "Safety Information and Notices" section before use. Before using your phone, you must insert a valid SIM card supplied by your GSM operator or retailer. The SIM card contains your subscription information, your mobile telephone number and a small quantity of memory in which you can store phone numbers and messages. You can also insert a memory card. This provides you with expanded memory capability, which allows you to store additional music, photo and video files separate from the phone's built-in memory. 3.1 Inserting the SIM Card Remove the back cover and battery Make sure the phone is switched off. You need to remove the back cover of your phone before you can insert the SIM card. Hold the phone with the front facing downwards; press and pull the back cover down; lift the back cover up to remove it. Put your finger on the black holder located on the bottom of the battery slot and lift the battery up to remove it.
  8      Insert the SIM card Make sure that the clipped corner of the SIM card is facing the correct direction (clipped corner at down right) and the metallic contacts are facing downwards. Slide the SIM card into the card slot until it stops.
  9  Install the battey and back cover With the metallic contacts of the battery facing the metallic contacts in the battery slot, press the battery down into its slot until it locks into place. Align and hook the back cover to the top of the battery slot and then press the back cover down until it locks into place.
  10     3.2 Turning the phone on To turn the phone on, press and hold the Hang-Up key. Enter the PIN code if required (the 4 to 8 digit secret code of your SIM card). It is preconfigured and provided to you by your network operator or retailer. If you enter an incorrect PIN code 3 times in succession, your SIM card will be locked. To unlock it, you must obtain the PUK code from your network operator. 3.3 Charging the Battery Your phone is powered by a rechargeable battery. The new battery is partially charged. A sound alert will warn you when the battery level becomes low. Make sure the battery is not removed. To charge the battery, plug in the connector at the top of your
  11 phone (USB interface) and then plug the other end into an AC power socket. The battery symbol indicates the charging status. During charging, the charge indicators will scroll. When all the scroll bars are steady, the battery is fully charged. You can then disconnect the charger. 3.4  Inserting a T-Flash Card Lift up the T-Flash card cover on the right side of your phone.   With the metal contacts facing down, gently slide the T-Flash card into the slot.  3.5  Important Password Phone lock password is 1122.
  12 3.6  Sub-screen When you close the cover, the sub-screen shows the date and time. Network and signal icons are displayed on the submenu too. If you are listening to the music, the sub-screen will show the name of the song.
  13 4  Text Entry  4.1 Input Method Your cellular phone supports several input methods, which include: ABC/abc/Abc/ES/es Numberic(123) 4.1.1 Changing the input modes During text editing, you can press the # Key to switch input modes,   or press the Left Soft Key [Options] and choose Input Method to select different input modes. 4.1.2 Entering Symbols In any input mode, press the * Key to open the symbols input screen. Use the navigation key to choose the desired symbol and the OK key to select it. 4.2 Predictive text entry  Letters and symbols represented by each key are as follows: 2 to 9  Press to input letters. 0 Press 0 to enter a space. 1  Press to input symbol. ◀/▶ Press to browse the previous or next available word. ▲/▼  Press to browse the available words in previous or next line.
  14 Left Soft Key Select the letter or word. OK Key  Press to confirm the letter or word. Right Soft Key   Press to clear a letter, press and hold to clear all entries. #  Switch between input mode. * Press to activate punctuation mode. Example: How to enter the word "HOME" 1. Press the # Key to switch to  ABC. 2. Press 4 6 6 3, the first word “GOOD” appears. 3. Press  ▶  to select “HOME”. 4. Press the OK Key to confirm “HOME”. 4.3 Multi-tap Input This method requires multiple key presses to reach the desired character: the letter "h" is the second letter on the 4 key, so you must press 4 twice quickly to enter "h". Using this mode requires you to press a key as many times as needed to enter the desired letter. Example: To enter the word «home» in Multi-tap input mode “ abc”, press key 4(GHI) twice, press key 6(MNO) thrice, press key 6(MNO) once and key 3(DEF) twice. 4.4 Numeric Input Press the # Key to select "123" input option then you can enter the numbers.
  15 5  Calling  5.1 Making a Call  1.In idle mode, enter the phone number. 2.Press the Dial/Answer Key to make a call. 3.Press the End/Power Key to end the call.  5.1.1 Making an International Call 1. In idle mode, press * key twice to enter "+". 2. Enter the country code. 3. Enter the area code (normally without the 0 before it) followed by the phone number. 4. Press the Dial/Answer Key to make a call.  5.2 Answering a Call Press the Dial/Answer Key or Left Soft Key Options > Answer to answer it. Press End/Power key to reject it.   Note: You can make a call only when the network name appears on the screen. 1. Enter the phone number. 2. Press the Pick-Up Key to dial the number.
  16 6 Function Menu 6.1  How To Use Select Menu Press the Left Soft Key [Menu] to enter Menu in idle mode.   Press the Navigation Key Up/Down to change menus and press the Left Soft Key [OK] to enter the selected menu. Note: The functions described below only appear when a SIM card is inserted. If you power on your phone without a SIM card, you will have limited access to menu functions when you press the Left Soft Key [Options]. Press the Right Soft Key [SOS] to make an emergency call.The aim of this function is to allow you to dial emergency number by keypad when you do not have a SIM card.   You can exit a menu and return to idle mode by pressing the Right Soft Key [Back] or the Hang-Up Key. 6.2 Menu  Messages  Fun & Games  STK   Call center WAP Phonebook   Multimedia  Organizer    Settings
  17 6.3 Messages 6.3.1 Creating a text message 1.  Select Menu > Messages > Write message > Text message. 2. Write a message, please refer to the Text entry section of this manual for detailed information. 3.  After entering text, you can press the Left Soft Key [Options] and then select Send to. 4. Enter the recipient number, or choose a contact from phonebook.  Note: Make sure the SMS Centre Address in the activated profile is correct; otherwise, you cannot send or receive the messages.  6.3.2  Creating a multimedia message 1.  Select Menu > Messages > Write message > Multimedia message. 2.  Edit the content of the message. You can add pictures, sound, and other objects to the multimedia message. You can also insert a new slide, preview the message, and set the slide duration. 3.  After you have completed inserting content, press the Left Soft Key [Options] and select Send to. 4. Enter the recipient, or choose a contact from phonebook.  Note: Make sure the activated profile is correct; otherwise, you cannot send or receive the multimedia messages.
  18 6.3.3 Broadcast Message 1.  Select Menu > Messages > Broadcast message. 2.  Press the Left Soft Key [On] to activate this function. 3.  Press the Navigation Down Key to select Channel settings to enter the channel number. Note: To obtain the codes corresponding to the different types of messages, you must contact your operator.  6.3.4 Email 1.  Select Menu > Messages > Email. 2.  Select Email accounts to add an email account. 3. Touch Options and select New account to create an email address. Now you can enter the email address, protocol, data account, incoming server, outgoing server, user name, password, and account name. 4. When you finish, the account will be saved automatically. You can now select Options and choose Activate to activate this account. 5. Go back to the previous menu and select Send and receive to refresh your mailbox. Note: Make sure the data account is correct. If it’s incorrect, you can go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Data account to change it.  6.3.5 Others
  19 In this “Messages” menu, you can view the message you have sent, saved, unsent or received in the Inbox, Drafts, Outbox,.Sent messages,   Select “Menu > Messages > Delete messages” to delete the message if you need. Select “Menu > Messages > Templates” to use the default SMS and MMS templates Select “Menu > Messages > Message settings” to adjust the message settings.  The menus described in this section allow you to send/receive messages and manage your messages. Only devices that have compatible features can receive and display multimedia messages. The appearance of the message may vary depending on the receiving device.    6.4 Fun & Games  This phone provides you some built-in games. To adjust the game settings, please select Menu > Fun & Games >Games > Games settings. In this menu, you can also access the JAVA applications here.    6.5 STK This menu allows you to access services supplied with your network, such as news, sports, weather, etc. Please contact your operator for more information.
  20 STK Services Note: The submenus of this feature depends on the operator and different operators may provide different services (some SIM cards do not support STK), which cannot be modified. Please contact your operator.  6.6 Call Center  Call History  1.  Select Menu > Call center > Call history. 2.  Select to view different call logs. 3. Choose a particular number and press the Pick-Up Key to call the number directly. 4.    Select Delete call logs if you want to delete any old numbers. 5.    Select GPRS counter to view the GPRS volume you have used.    Call Settings Caller ID This feature allows you to show or hide your identity (i.e. your phone number) to your correspondent. You can select Set by network, Hide ID or Send ID. Note: This feature is network/subscription dependent. Call Waiting If activated, when there is a second incoming call, it will prompt you. Select Query status to find out
  21 whether the call waiting is active or not. Call Divert Select to divert incoming calls to your mailbox or to a number (whether in your contacts or not) and you can choose from the following options: All voice Calls, If Unreachable, If no answer, If busy or All data calls. You can also cancel all divert settings by selecting Cancel all divert. Call Barring Allows you to limit the use of your phone to specific calls. This can be applied to incoming calls (all calls or when roaming) and/or to outgoing calls (all calls, international calls, international calls except to home PLMN). To activate call barring, you need to enter a communication limit code. This barring code will then be sent to the network for validation. Note: This operation only supports GSM calls. You can cancel all call barring.   You can modify your barring code by selecting Change Barring Password. Closed User Group You can specify a group of people to whom you can call and who can call you (network service). Press the Left Soft Key [Add] to add a group. You should enter the name and index. When calls are limited to closed user groups, calls may be possible to the official emergency number programmed into your device. Advance settings You can also set Blacklist,Auto redial,Call time display,Call time reminder and auto quick end here.
  22 6.7 WAP  Internet service Homepage: Select to access the homepage directly. You can also set the homepage address in WAP > Settings. Bookmarks: Select to save the current web page or the web pages that you frequently visit in the Bookmark list, where you can manage and organize them. When you enter the menu, a list of bookmark entries are displayed. To connect to the web address of a particular bookmark entry, press the Left Soft Key [Options] and then choose Goto. Input address: Select to enter a web address then press the Left Soft Key [Options] and choose Done to connect to this address. If there is an address list, you can press the Left Soft Key [Options] and then choose Goto, Edit, Add Bookmark, Delete or Delete All. Recent Pages: Select to view the history of recent pages. Service Inbox: Select to view the push messages sent by WAP. Settings: Select to configure the browser parameters including: ♦ Profiles: You can activate one of the profiles or edit them. If editing the profiles, you can edit the profile name, homepage, data account, connection type, user name and password. Note: If you want to edit the profiles, please contact your operator for more information. ♦ Browser Options: Select to set the time of timeout and set Show Images on or off. ♦ Preferences:You can set Timeout,Show pictures,Cache and Cookies here. Timeout: You can manually input the timeout time.
  23 Show pictures: Choose to always show pictures or never show pictures. Cache: The information or date you have accessed is all stored in the cache of the phone. A cache is a file buffer used to store date only temporarily. You can clear the cache by selecting this option. Cookies: Under the consideration of privacy and security issue, we would suggest you to clear cookies which may contain sensitive information just in case your phone is misplaced, lost or stolen. ♦ Security settings: This function is to indicate your trusted certificate while browsing and allows you to manage your trust list. ♦ Service Message Settings: Select to choose Enable Push on or off and others.. 6.8 Phonebook Your phone features two phonebooks.The SIM phonebook is located on your SIM card and the number of entries you can store depends on the SIM card. The second phonebook (Smart phonebook) is integrated in the phone memory and the maximum number of name cards you can store is 500. The entries in the two phonebooks are combined, sorted and displayed as a list. When you add a new contact to your phonebook, the new contact will only be added to the storage location you have selected. Quick Search Enter the first number of the entry you want to search for in the search bar; press the # Key to switch between the input methods. Search Entry Enter the name of the entry you want to search, press the # Key to switch between the input methods.
  24 After entering a name, press the Left Soft Key [Options] to choose Search, the cellular phone will display the entry after searching. Add new contact To create a new SIM/phone contact: To SIM Press the Navigation Key Up/Down to select a field. ♦ Name: Press the Left Soft Key [Edit] to enter the name. ♦ Number: Enter the phone number. After entering a name and number, press the Right Soft Key [Done] or the Left Soft Key [OK] to save.   To Phone Press the Navigation Key Up/Down to select a field. ♦ Name: Press the Left Soft Key [Edit] to enter the name. ♦ Number: Enter the phone number, press the Right Soft Key [Clear] to erase incorrect numbers. ♦ Caller picture: Press the Navigation Key Left or Right to select a picture and then press the Left Soft Key [View] to view the selected picture. If select “From File”, you can enter File Manager to choose a picture for the new entry. ♦ Caller ringtone: Press the Navigation Key Left or Right to select a sound; the selected sound will play after a few seconds. After editing, you can press the Light Soft Key [Done] to save.
  25 6.9 Multimedia Camera   Your cellular phone features a digital camera that allows you to take pictures, store them, set them as wallpaper or send them to your friends. Please ensure that the camera lens is clean before you take pictures, as small dust particles can strongly affect the picture quality. How to ... Launch Camera   From idle mode, press the OK Key to enter the Menu then select Multimedia>Camera Zoom in/out Press the Navigation Key up or down▲/▼ Adjust brightness Press the Navigation Key left or right  ▶/◀ Settings    Press 1: Shortcut to Image Size. Press 2: Shortcut to Image Quality. Press 4: Shortcut to White Balance. Press 6: Shortcut to Delay Timer. Press 7: Shortcut to Cont. shot. Press #: Appear or disappear the icons on the camera screen. Take a picture Press the OK Key. After taking, the picture will be saved as JPEG format in File Manager menu automatically.   Exit   Press the Hang-Up Key or the Right Soft Key [Back]. At any point in time, you can press the Hang-Up Key to cancel the current operation and return to the idle

Camera Option Menu When the camera mode is activated you can change a number of settings by pressing the Left Soft Key [Options] before taking a picture: Options   Description Photos  Enter the album according to the storage, if the storage is the phone, it will shortcut to File Manager > Phone > Photos. Camera settings ♦ Shutter sound: sound1, shound2, sound3, off. ♦ EV: EV -2,EV -1.5, EV-1, EV-0.5, EV 0, EV +0.5, EV +1, EV +1.5,EV +2. ♦ Contrast: High,Medium,Low ♦ Anti-flicker: 50Hz, 60 Hz. ♦ Delay Timer: off, 5 secs, 10 secs, 15 secs. ♦ Cont. Shot: off, 1 shot, 3 shot, 5 shot. Image settings ♦ Image Size: 80x60,160x120,320x240,640x480,128x160. ♦ Image Quality: low, normal, good. White balance Select auto, daylight, tungsten, fluorescent, cloud, or incandescence. Scene mode  Select auto or night. Effect settings Select normal, grayscale, sepia, sepia green, sepia blue, or color invert. Storage    Set the storage for the camera to the phone or the memory card. If set to the Memory Card, the picture taken will be stored in File Manager > Memory card > Photos
  27 Restore default Restore all the camera settings to the default settings. Note: When there is not enough memory space, you will not be able to save the picture and you will be prompted with a warning message. So you should delete existing pictures before you can store new ones.   Image Viewer This menu lists the picture from File Manager > Phone/Memory card > Photos according to its storage setting. You can press the Left Soft Key [Options] to view, change browser style, send,use as,rename, delete, sort by, delete all files or choose storage. The supported imgae format is JPEG, if the size is too large and your cellular phone can not view it, it will give you a prompt. Video Recorder This option allows you to record short videos. You can play the video and store it in the memory card or the phone. You can also send the video to your friends via MMS or bluetooth. Video Option Menu  Before you start recording, you can change settings by pressing the Left Soft Key [Options]. Options  Description Camcorder settings ♦ White Balance: auto, daylight, tungsten, fluorescent, cloud, incandescence. ♦ EV: EV -4, EV -3, EV -2, EV-1, EV 0, EV +1, EV +2, EV +3, EV+4. ♦ Night Mode: off, on. ♦ Banding: 50 Hz, 60Hz.
  28 You should press the Navigation Key Left or Right to toggle between these selections. Video settings  Set the video quality: low, normal, or high. White balance Set to auto,daylight,tungsten,fluorescent,cloudy or incandescent. Effect settings  Select normal, grayscale, sepia, sepia green, sepia blue, color invert. storage Set the storage for camera: phone or memory card. If set to memory card, the picture taken will be stored in File Manager > Memory card > Video. Restore default  Restore all the camera settings to the default settings. Video Player  This menu lists all the videos from File Manager > Phone/Memory card > Video which is the storage you selected, press the Left Soft Key [Options] to play it or change the storage. During playback, you can: 1.  Play or pause playback by pressing the OK Key or the 0 Key. 2.  Resume playback by pressing the OK Key or the 0 Key. 4.    Adjust the playing speed by pressing the Navigation Key Up/ Down ▲/▼. 5.  Rewind by pressing and holding the Navigation Key Left  ◀. 6.  Fast forward by pressing and holding the Navigation Key Right  ▶. 7.  Return to the previous menu level by pressing the Right Soft Key [Back]. 8.  Return to idle screen by pressing the Hang-Up Key.
  29  Audio Player Keys Operation The keypad operations during music playback are as follows:  Key Description The OK Key  Short press to Start/Pause/resume music playback. Navigation Key ◀ or ▶   Short press to select the previous song/next song. Press and hold to   rewind/fast forward the track during playback. * # Keys  Adjust volume. Once you have set the volume, the settings will be saved until the next time you adjust the volume. Left Soft Key [Options] Open options menu. Right Soft Key [Back] Return to previous menu. Audio Player Setting menu Press Left Soft Key [List] to list the audio files and then press the Left Soft Key [Options] to choose Settings, you can set your Pre. playlist, List auto gen., Repeat, Shuffle, Background play and Bluetooth settings. Note: this menu lists the music file in File Manager > Phone/Memory card > My Music which is the storage you selected, it supports the audio format of MP3, AMR and WAV. Sound Recorder This menu allows you to make recordings.The length depends on the memory status.
  30 Press the Left Soft Key [Options] and select Record to start recording. Press the Left Soft Key [Pause] or [Cont.] to pause or resume the recording. When you are finished recording, press the Right Soft Key [Stop] to save the recording. You can then enter a name for the new sound file or accept the default name by pressing the Left Soft Key [Options] and select Save. Note: Saved sound files can be found in File Manager > Phone/ Memory card > Audio menu according to your storage setting.  FM Radio Note: The radio will not work unless the headset is attached. Attach the headset included with your phone to the charging port located at the bottom of the phone. To operate the radio: 1.  Press the Navigation Key Up to activate or deactivate the FM radio. 2.  Press the Navigation Key Down to activate or deactivate the auto search mode. 3.  Press the Navigation Key Right/Left to switch the channels.If auto search is activated, pressing the Navigation Key Right/Left will switch the available searched channels; if auto search is deactivated, pressing the Navigation Key Right/Left will switch to varying channels by 0.1 intervals. 4.  Press * # keys to adjust the volume. 5.  Press Left Soft Key Options to access the following options: ♦ Channel list: Select to view the list of preset channels. Press the Left Soft Key [Options] to play, delete or edit the selected channel. ♦ Manual input: Select to manually input a channel number and then play it.
  31 ♦ Auto search: Select to Auto search the available channels and save the searched channels into the preset channel list. ♦ Settings:Select to set the background play and loud speaker. ♦ Record: Allows you to record your favorite program. ♦ Append: Allows you to resume the file you have recorded and continue to record on the same file. ♦ File list: Allows you to list the radio program you have recorded. File Manager This menu allows you to manage the files saved in your phone and memory card. When you highlight on one of them, the related memory information is displayed at the top of the screen, including total volume and free volume. There are folders of received, images, audio, ebook, my music, photo and video. Phone Press Left Soft Key [Options] to access the following options: ♦ Open: Select to view folders in the phone. Press the Left Soft Key [Options] to access the following options:  Open: Select to open the folder, it will list all the files in the selected folder, you can press the Left Soft Key to view, edit, delete, forward, copy, move, sort, or other operations.  New folder: Select to create a new sub-folder in the selected folder.  Rename: Select to rename the selected folder.  Delete: Select to delete the selected folder.  Sort by: Select to sort by name, type, time or size.   ♦ Format: Select to format the Phone memory.
  32 Memory Card You should insert a T-FLASH card first. Then enter this menu to view the files and folders on the memory card. The operation is similar to the operation on the phone. If you want to modify or add files to this menu, such as audio files, video files or ebook, you should connect your cellular phone to PC by using a USB cable. On cellular phone, choose “Mass Storage”, then you can edit File Manager menu on PC. When the transfer is finished, please make sure that you safely remove your device by clicking    6.10 Oragnizer This menu contains features and options designed to keep you organized and informed while on the go. Calendar This feature allows you to keep track of your schedule and tasks saved in the calendar. You can also switch on the alarm with the task for reminding. To make a note and reminder in Calendar for the first time: 1.  In Organizer menu, choose Calendar. 2. Select a day in the calendar. 3. Select Options > View to view the event. You can also select Options > Add event to add a new event. 4. Choose a type of the event. Input the start and end time of your event, and describe the event contents in Subject and Details, after you finish editing the contents of your event, select Options > Done to save your description.
  33 5.  Choose Alarm clock to turn on or off.   6.  Choose Once/ Everyday/Custom/ Weekly/ Monthly/ in Repeat. 7.    Then you can edit other information. 8.  Press [Done] to save the event. Tasks You can also view, edit or delete the tasks from the options under this feature. For the first-time user, you will need to follow the steps below: 1. Select Add in the Task List. Then choose the task type. 2.  Edit your Task by entering date, time, Subject, alarm, repeat and other information. 3. You can choose to turn the alarm on as the reminder. 4. Select [Done] and Yes to save your task. This menu allows you to create, store and manage tasks in your organizer. Alarm Your cellular phone has a built-in alarm clock with snooze feature. You can set up to five separate alarms and choose whether or not the alarm should repeat. To set an alarm: 1.   Select an alarm and then press the Left Soft Key [Edit] to create. 2.   To edit different fields of the alarm, including On/Off, Enter time, set Repeat, select snooze minute and alert type. Finally, press the Right Soft Key [Done] to save the settings. World Clock This menu allows you to set different world clocks and set Daylight savings time On or Off.
  34 Press the Left Soft Key [OK] to enter the menu. A world map appears on screen - press the Navigation Key Left/Right to select the world clock. The corresponding city, date, and time is displayed on the top and bottom of the screen. Press the Left Soft Key [Options] to set Daylight savings time to On or Off for a foreign city. Calculator Your cellular phone has a built in calculator. Enter the numbers with the keypad. An icon will apear on the screen indicating how to do calculations:           Note: press the Navigation Key Up/ Down can switch between M-, -, +, M+; press the Navigation Key Left/ Right can switch between MC, x, ÷, MR.  Unit converter This feature helps you to convert either the weight or length to a different unit.   35   Stopwatch This function is designed to store the timepiece, which is to start or stop for exact timing. To use stopwatch 1.  From the Menu select Organizer > Stopwatch. 2.  Select Typical stopwatch. You can choose different record methods and view records.   • Split Timing: When you select this, the timepiece will be saved and continue to count when you press Split. The 2nd timepiece is recorded based on the continuous timing. You can stop and resume anytime. • Lap Timing: When you select this, the timepiece will be saved and start the new timing when you press Lap. The 2nd timepiece is recorded in new timing. You can stop and resume anytime. • View records: You can view those timepieces you have recorded or delete the records. 3.    Select nWay stopwatch. You can make four records. Your phone features two kinds of stopwatches:Typical stopwatch and nWay stopwatch.  6.11 Settings You can configure your cellular phone to best suit your usage preferences. User profiles This menu allows you to select a profile from General, Meeting, Outdoor, Indoor, Headset and Bluetooth.

Answer mode: Press the Left Soft Key [On/Off] to activate or deactivate any key answer and Cover Answer. Note: Headset profile can only be activated by plugging in a headset. Bluetooth profile can only be activated by using Bluetooth.  Phone Settings This menu allows you to configure some general settings for your cellular phone: Time and Date Set time zone: Select a city from a list and set it as your home city. Set time/ date: Press the Navigation Key Up/Down to edit the field. When the time or date field is
  37 selected, press any numeric key to input the time or date and press the Navigation Key Left/Right to move left or right. When Daylight Savings is selected, press the Navigation Key Left/Right to turn it on or off. Press the Left Soft Key [OK] to confirm settings. Set format: Press the Navigation Key Up/Down to edit the field, including Time format and Date format, then press the Navigation Key Left/Right to select formats. Update with time zone: Press Navigation Key Up/Down to on or off the update with time zone function. Schedule Power On/ Off You can set your cellular phone to automatically power on or off up to four times. Press the Navigation Key Up/Down to select a group and press Left Soft Key [Edit] to set following fields: ♦ Status: To activate or deactivate. ♦ Power: To select power on or power off. ♦ Time: To enter time. Language This menu allows you to select a language for all menu texts. Use the Navigation Key Up or Down to browse the list and select a language by pressing the Left Soft Key [OK]. If you select “Automatic”, your cellular phone will choose the language according to your SIM card and your phone. Pref. Input Method You can select one input method as your preferred input methos, after setting, every time you enter an editor, it will use your perferred input method first. Display Wallpaper: Select System or User Define. ♦  if select System, you should press the Navigation Key Up/Down to select image, press the Left

Show date and time: Press the Left Soft Key [On/Off] to show or hide the date and time in idle screen. Show own number: Select to turn on or off. Themes You can activate the selected theme or set the update period. Dedicated Key Select to assign functions to the four navigation keys – up, down, left or right. Auto Update of Date and Time Press Left Soft Key [On/Off] to turn it on or off. Flight Mode Select from Normal mode, Flight mode and Query when power on. Misc Setting Select to set brightness level and the time for LCD backlight.  Network Settings Network Selection New search: Press to search for a new network.
  39 Select network: Press to select a network from the network list. Selection mode: Press the Left Soft Key [Change] to select to choose your network manually or automatically.   Preferences Preferred Network allows you to build a preferred network list. Once defined, the phone will try to register on the network according to your preferences. Press the Left Soft Key [Options] in the preferred network list to access the following: ♦ Change Priority: Press to change the priority of the network. Press the Navigation Key Left or Right to change location and press Left Soft Key [OK] to confirm. ♦ Delete: Press to remove the network from the list. You can select up to eight preferred networks. GPRS Connection You can press the Left Soft Key [Change] to modify your GPRS connection: When needed or Always. Security settings SIM Lock To prevent your SIM card from illegal use your SIM card is protected by a PIN code. If you set the SIM lock to On, you can only use your cellular phone by entering the correct PIN code every time you turn it on. If you enter the wrong PIN code three times, your SIM card will be locked and a PUK code will be required. Contact your service provider for more information. Phone Lock To prevent your cellular phone from illegal use, you can activate Phone lock. If activated, you will need to enter the correct Phone lock password before you can use it.
  40 When you set it to on or off, the phone lock password is also required. If you forget the password, contact your service provider for assistance in unlocking the phone. Note: The initial password is 1122. If you want to change your password, go to Change password. Auto keypad lock This allows you to lock the phone’s keypad to prevent accidental key pressed. In Auto Keypad Lock submenu, select the time that after the last key press will be disabled.  Change Password Select to modify password, including PIN, PIN2 and Phone lock passwords.  Certificate manager Select to view, delete, delete all or set the key usage. Connectivity  Bluetooth Your phone is designed to be compliant with Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth technology enables wireless connections between electronic devices. The Bluetooth connection can be used to listen to stereo music, send images, video, texts and vCards. To start using Bluetooth technology Your Bluetooth connection needs to be configured prior to operation. Your phone provides the following options:
  41 • Power • Visibility • My device • Search audio device • My name • Advanced Power 1. In Settings > Connectivity. 2. Select Bluetooth. 3.   Select Power to switch on/off the Bluetooth connectivity. Visibility You may turn the visibility of your phone on or off when other devices are trying to search devices supporting BT technology. To pair BT devices 1. In Settings menu, choose Connectivity > Bluetooth. 3. Go to My device. 4.  Select Search new device, then press the left soft key, your phone will automatically search all BT devices. 5.    To pair with a BT device, press Pair. Create your own password and agree with the owner of the other device to use the same password. Devices that do not have a user interface have a
  42 factory-set password. Refer to its documentation for further information. To connect BT Devices 1. In Settings menu, choose Connectivity > Bluetooth. 2.  Go to My device and select the BT device you wish to connect. 3.  Select Options > Connect. 4.  Before the BT device is connected, your phone will ask you which profile you wish to connect (it will depend on how many profiles your BT device supports). To send data using Bluetooth connectivity 1. Select the object you want to send. 2. Select Options > Send. 3. Choose Via Bluetooth, then your phone will search for the BT device.   4. Select the device you would like to share followed by the sending action. To receive data using Bluetooth connectivity   When you receive data through Bluetooth, a notification message will pop up to ask if you are willing to accept. If you decide to receive the message, press Yes and the data will be saved in the Received folder of the File Manager.   To listen to stereo music 1.  In Settings menu, choose Connectivity > Bluetooth. 2.  If you have already paired the stereo Bluetooth headset, please go to My Device and select
  43 the headset you wish to connect. If you have never paired the Bluetooth headset before, please pair the headset first.  Note:                                                                                 1. Operating your phone in invisible mode is a safer way to avoid malicious software.        2. Do not accept BT connectivity from sources you do not trust..  Search Audio Device To pair with a BT audio device, follow the steps below: 1. In Settings menu, choose Connectivity > Bluetooth. 2.  You will have to power on the Bluetooth connectivity of your phone and the device you wish to connect first. 3.  After the Bluetooth connectivity is turned on, select Search audio device. Your phone will automatically search the device. 4.  Whenever you select the device, there will be a pop-up message to notify you. 5.  Press Pair to pair your phone with the headset. You might need to enter the headset password which is factory-set, refer to its documentation for further information. 6.  Then you may add the BT headset to the trust list and connect the headset by selecting Yes.

My name You can change your device which is your phone’s name displayed in other device Advanced • Audio Path: This function helps you to set if you wish to leave your audio path in the phone or BT headset. • Storage: You can choose the storage for the received files, phone, memory card or always ask. • Sharing permission: You can set your Sharing permission to Full control or read only • My address: you can view your handset address here. Data Account You can access WAP via GSM Data or GPRS. To get the analogue number or ISDN number information, you may need to contact your operator for the service. To get the access point of GPRS, you may need to contact your operator for the service.
  45 Restore factory settings By pressing the Left Soft Key [OK], you will be required to enter the phone lock password to restore the phone to its original factory settings. After entering and confirming the correct password, all settings of your cellular phone will be restored to factory settings. Shortcuts This feature allows you to make a list of shorcuts for quick use. If there is no feature defined as a shortcut, press the Left Soft Key [Add] to create a new shortcut. If there is a feature in the shortcut list, press the Left Soft Key [Options] to access the following operations: Add, Edit, Delete, Delete all, Enable/Disable, Change order. Note: To use shortcuts, enter Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Dedicated Key to define one of the Dedicated key as Shortcuts. Then press the related Dedicated key in idle mode to access the features defined in the shortcut list.

Follow any rules or regulations in such places. Do not use the phone at a gas station, near fuel or near chemicals. Do not use the phone near electronic medical devices such as hearing aids, pacemakers and auto-control devices such as fire detectors and automatic doors.   If you have to use your cellular phone near an electronic medical device such as a pacemaker, please contact your manufacturer or dealer for information about preventing interference. Caution: Electronic systems in automobiles such as anti-lock brakes, speed control, or fuel spraying systems, are usually not influenced by wireless devices. Manufacturers of these systems will tell you whether they are provided with good screening functions. If you suspect that an automobile failure is caused by a wireless wave, please contact your automobile dealer. Avoid using your phone in crowded places. Do not store your cellular phone near or together with a credit card, disk or other magnetic materials. This may affect information stored on your phone. Keep your phone away from pins. Pins can be absorbed by the phone’s receiver magnet, which may cause harm. Using the Battery Danger: Do not dispose of the battery into a fire. Doing so may cause battery explosion or even fire. If you have difficulties installing the battery, do not force the installation. This may cause battery leakage,

Keep metal objects away so they do not come in contact with the battery or its connectors as it may cause the battery to short circuit, overheat or explode.   Do not weld the polarities of the battery directly together. This may cause battery leakage, overheating, explosion or even fire. Battery liquid is severely harmful for your eyes. If battery liquid gets in your eyes, do not rub them.   Instead, wash your eyes with water first and then go directly to a doctor for help. Do not use or store your phone in high temperature areas. This may cause battery leakage, overheating, explosion or even fire. Warning: Replace the battery when the normal usage time begins to decrease or if you notice the battery is overheated or has changed shape or color.   If battery liquid leaks onto your skin or clothes, immediately wash the affected parts with water.   If the battery begins to leak or emits a strange odor, properly dispose of the battery according to local regulations. Do not throw it into a fire.   Caution: Do not leave the product or its battery inside a vehicle or in places where the temperature may exceed 60°C (140°F), such as on a car dashboard, window sill, or behind a glass that is exposed to direct sunlight or strong ultraviolet light for extended periods of time. This may damage the product, overheat the battery, or pose a risk to the vehicle.   Using the Charger Danger:

If liquids spill onto the charger it may cause it to overheat or breakdown. This may cause an electric shock. Caution: Keep the environment temperatures within the range of 0ºC ~40ºC while charging. Temperature below 0ºC or higher than 40ºC will cause insufficient charging, terminate charging or even cause the battery to explode. Unplug the charger from its power source before cleaning it.   Do not place heavy objects on the power cord. This may cause electric shock or fire. Hold the plug while unplugging the power cord. This will avoid any potential damage or even fire. Requirements for Cellular Phone Avoid using your cellular phone in extremely high or low temperatures. Use the phone in a temperature range between -10~55℃and humidity of 35%~85%.
  56 It is recommended that you do not use your cellular phone near a telephone, TV set, radio or other radio frequency sensitive devices. Requirements for the Battery When not in use, store the battery in a cool, well-ventilated place with sunlight. If you will not be using the cellular phone for an extended period of time, charge the battery on a regular basis to avoid battery breakdown. The phone battery wears out fast. If after charging the battery does not improve its performance, it is time to replace the battery. Properly dispose of the battery according to local regulations. Do not throw it into a fire. Requirements for the Charger and AC Adapter Do not charge your phone under the following circumstances: sunlight, temperatures equal to or lower than 0ºC, temperatures equal to or higher than 40ºC, high humidity, dust, high vibration areas, or near a TV, a radio, etc. Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) information The SAR limit of USA (FCC) is 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of tissue.   58 12 MONTH LIMITED WARRANTY PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES (the Company) warrants to the original retail purchaser of this PCD handheld portable cellular telephone, that should this product or any part thereof during normal consumer usage and conditions, be proven defective in material or workmanship that results in product failure within the first twelve (12) month period from the date of purchase, such defect(s) will be repaired or replaced (with new or rebuilt parts) at the Company’s option, without charge for parts or labor directly related to the defect(s). The antenna, keypad, display, rechargeable battery and battery charger, if included, are similarly warranted for twelve (12) months from date of purchase.     This Warranty extends only to consumers who purchase the product in the United States or Canada and it is not transferable or assignable. When sending your wireless device to PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES for repair or service, please note that any personal data or software stored on the device may be inadvertently erased or altered.    Therefore, we strongly recommend you make a back up copy of all data and software contained on your device before submitting it for repair or service.    This includes all contact lists, downloads (i.e. third-party software applications, ringtones, games and graphics) and any other data added to your device.    In addition, if your wireless device utilizes a SIM or Multimedia card, please remove the card before submitting the device and store for later use when your device is returned, PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES is not responsible for and does not guarantee restoration of any third-party software, personal information or memory data contained in, stored on, or integrated with any wireless device, whether under warranty or not, returned to PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES for repair or service.     To obtain repairs or replacement within the terms of this Warranty, the product should be delivered with proof of Warranty coverage (e.g. dated bill of sale), the consumer’s return address, daytime phone number and/or fax number and complete description of the problem, transportation prepaid, to the Company at the address shown below or to the place of purchase for repair or replacement processing.   In addition, for reference to an authorized Warranty station in your area, you may telephone in the United States (800) 229-1235, and in Canada (800) 465-9672 (in Ontario call 416-695-3060).
  60 THE EXTENT OF THE COMPANY’S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT PROVIDED ABOVE AND, IN NO EVENT, SHALL THE COMPANY’S LAIBILITY EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY PURCHASER FOR THE PRODUCT.  ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY. ANY ACTION FOR BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY MUST BE BROUGHT WITHIN A PERIOD OF 18 MONTHS FROM DATE OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE.    IN NO CASE SHALL THE COMPANY BE LIABLE FOR AN SPECIAL CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WHATSOEVER.    THE COMPANY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR THE DELAY IN RENDERING SERVICE UNDER THIS WARRANTY OR LOSS OF USE DURING THE TIME THE PRODUCT IS BEING REPAIRED OR REPLACED.  No person or representative is authorized to assume for the Company any liability other than expressed herein in connection with the sale of this product.  Some states or provinces do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damage so the above limitation or exclusions may not apply to you. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state or province to province.
