Temperature sensorImportant guidelines for installing your Baby Monitor•  To use your video monitor baby and parent unit together, you must be able to establish a radio link between them, and the range will be affected by environmental conditions. •  Any large metal object, like a refrigerator, a mirror, a filing cabinet, metallic doors or reinforced concrete, between the baby and parent unit may block the radio signal. •  The signal strength may also be reduced by other solid structures, like walls, or by radio or electrical equipment, such as TV's, computers, cordless or mobile phones, fluorescent lights or dimmer switches. •  Use of other 2.4GHz products, such as wireless networks, Bluetooth® systems or microwave ovens may cause interference with this product, so keep the baby monitor away from these types of products, or turn them off if they appear to be causing interference. •  If the signal is poor, try moving the parent and/or the baby unit to different positions in the rooms. Safety InstructionsWARNINGThis baby monitor is compliant with all relevant standards regarding electromagnetic fields and is, when handled as described in the User’s Guide, safe to use. Therefore, always read the instructions in this User’s Guide carefully before using the device.•  Adult assembly is required. Keep small parts away from children when assembling.•  This product is not a toy. Do not allow children to play with it.•  This baby monitor is not a substitute for responsible adult supervision.•  Keep this User’s Guide for future reference.•  Do not place the baby unit or cables in the crib or within arm's reach of the baby (the unit should be at least 3 feet away).•  Keep the cords out of reach of children.•  Do not cover the baby monitor with a towel or blanket.•  Never use extension cords with power adapters. Only use the power adapters provided.•  Test this monitor and all its functions so that you are familiar with it prior to actual use.•  Do not use the baby monitor near water.•  Do not install the baby monitor near a heat source.•  Only use the chargers and power adapters provided. Do not use other chargers or power adapters as this may damage the device and batteries.•  For the parent unit, only insert a rechargeable battery pack of the same type. For the baby unit, use non-rechargeable batteries and insert with the correct polarity, as indicated in the battery compartment and in “2.1 Baby unit battery installation”. •  Do not touch the charger or plug contacts with sharp or metal objects.CAUTIONRisk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions.
Getting started 7ENGLISH2. Getting started2.1 Baby unit battery installationThe camera uses either 3 AA size batteries (non-rechargeable batteries recommended) or the household mains electricity. The Baby unit has no charging function!IMPORTANTThe non-rechargeable batteries for the Baby unit are not supplied with your product. We recommend that batteries be installed before use, so that the unit continues to work in the event of a power supply failure.1. Loosen the screw in a counterclockwise direction using a small screwdriver. Remove the battery cover.2. Install 3 AA non-rechargeable batteries following the polarity as shown in the compartment. Close the battery compartment and tighten the screw in a clockwise direction.3. Slide the power switch to the ON position. The power LED will light up in green. To switch off the baby unit, slide the power switch to the OFF position.NOTEWhen the battery level is low, the power LED will turn orange and will flash.WARNINGDo not mix old batteries with new ones. Keep batteries away from small children. Do not short-circuit batteries or dispose of in fire.Remove the batteries if this device is not going to be used for a long period of time.
8 Getting started2.2 Baby unit power supply1. Connect the small plug of the power adapter to the baby unit and the other end to the electrical outlet (110V/60Hz).NOTEOnly use the enclosed power adapter (6V DC / 800mA).2. Slide the power switch to the ON position. The power LED will light up in green.3. To turn off the baby unit, return the switch to the OFF position.2.3 Parent unit battery installationBlack Red
Getting started 9ENGLISH1. Loosen the screw in a counterclockwise direction using a small screwdriver. Remove the battery cover.2. Insert the wire tab of the rechargeable battery pack into the contact slot as shown above and fit the battery pack into the compartment. 3. Close the battery compartment and tighten the screw in a clockwise direction.4. Press and hold p to turn ON the parent unit.5. Press and hold p to turn OFF the parent unit.NOTEWhen the battery level is low, the power LED will turn green and flash. Charge the battery pack for at least 15 hours before using on battery power only.NOTEWhen the unit is powered up with either the power adapter or the rechargeable battery pack, the LED will light up in green. When the rechargeable battery is in charging mode, the LED will light up in red.2.4 Parent unit power supply1. Connect the small plug of the power adapter to the parent unit and the other end to the electrical outlet (110V/60Hz).NOTEOnly use the enclosed power adapter (6V DC / 800mA).2. 10 Getting startedNOTEOnce the baby and parent units are switched on, the display on the parent unit will show the video captured by the baby unit. When the Voice Activation mode is on, the screen will turn off after a few seconds if the sound near the baby unit drops below the Voice Activation threshold.When there is no connection or the units are out of range, the icon on the LCD display will flash and the parent unit will beep continuously. Move the parent unit closer to the baby unit until the link is re-established.2.5 RegistrationThe Baby monitor is pre-registered to your Parent unit. You do not need to register it again unless the Baby unit loses its link with the Parent unit. To re-register your Baby unit, or register a new Baby unit, follow the procedure below:1. Switch off the Baby unit2. Press m button on the Parent unit until Registration appears on display screen.3. Press m button to confirm the selection and   1 will enter the registration mode and appears on display screen for 15 seconds.4. Switch the Baby unit ON to enter the registration mode. The power LED on the baby unit flashes quickly for approximately 3 seconds.The registration is completed when   1… OK appears for 3 seconds and captures the video from the baby unit’s camera on display screen of the parent unit.If the registration fails then  1… X appears on display screen for 3 seconds then both parent and baby units return to normal mode.NOTEIf a particular Baby unit had been registered already, register this current Baby unit again will over-write the old registration.

Using the Baby Monitor MBP35BL, MBP35BW3.1 Setting Up•  Place the camera in a convenient location and point the lens of the camera towards the area you want to monitor.•  Tilt the head of the baby unit up or down to your desired position until the parent unit gets a good reception of the baby.NOTEDo not place the camera within baby’s reach! If there is interference on the picture or sound, try moving the units to different locations, and ensure they are not close to other electrical equipment.3.2 Night VisionThe camera has high-intensity infrared LEDs for picking up clear images in the dark. When the built-in photo sensor detects a low level of ambient light, the LEDs will automatically activate and the screen on the parent unit will display in black and white.NOTEIf the ambient light near the baby unit is marginal, the screen may appear to flicker between colour and black and white.3.3 Talk FunctionPress and hold t on the Parent unit to talk to your baby through the Baby unit loudspeaker. The symbol Talk will be displayed in the middle of the display screen. 3.4 Adjusting the volume of the parent unit1. Press < and > to adjust the volume  (5 levels) of the parent unit during normal operations and  (5 volume levels) appears on the display screen. NOTE Volume adjustment does not work if the baby monitor selection is in AUTO mode.
12 Using the Baby Monitor MBP35BL, MBP35BW3.5 Playing a lullaby for your babyYou can remotely activate a lullaby to be played on the baby unit.1. Press the i button on the parent unit to play the last set lullaby. 2. To select another lullaby, press j during playback. There are 5 lullabies available for selection, indicated by 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5. 3. To play all lullabies, press j until   is displayed on the display screen.4. Press j again to stop playback.TIPS•  During the first 10 seconds of lullaby playback, pressing < or > will adjust the lullaby volume of the baby unit.   appears on the display screen. • Pressing < or > after 10 seconds of lullaby playback will adjust the volume of the parent unit.   appears on the display screen.

Press m repeatedly until Language appears on the display screen of parent unit.2. Press < or > to select the language you want 3. Press m button to confirm the selection.4.2 Brightness1. Press m repeatedly until   appears on the display screen. 2. Press < and > to adjust the LCD brightness level to 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 (the default setting is 3). The LCD brightness will be adjusted accordingly.3. Press m repeatedly to exit.4.3 Temperature Display (ºC or ºF)1. Press m repeatedly until   appears on the display screen.2. Press < and > to change the temperature display to ºC, ºF or OFF (the default setting is ºC). The temperature unit and reading will be changed accordingly. 3. Press m repeatedly to exit.NOTEIf the temperature goes above 40ºC (102ºF),High appears on the LCD screen.If the temperature goes below 0ºC (32ºF), Low appears on the LCD screen.4.4 Night Light1. Press m repeatedly until Night Light appears on the display screen.2. Press < to turn the Baby unit Night Light ON or press > to turn the Night Light OFF. The night light on the baby unit will be switched on and off accordingly.

Press m repeatedly to exit.4.5 Voice ActivationIf you do not want the parent unit screen to be on continually, you can set the Voice Activation mode ON so that the screen only turns on if there is a sound near the baby unit. The default setting, however, is Voice Activation OFF, which allows for constant audio and video monitoring. It is best to use the power supplies with both units when selecting Voice Activation OFF mode.1. Press m repeatedly until Voice Activation appears on the display screen.2. Press < and > to adjust the voice activation to ON or OFF.• Choose Voice Activation OFF if you wish to keep the monitor steadily on, transmitting both video and audio. Please use the unit’s power supplies with this setting.• Choose Voice Activation ON which allows the transmission of sound with video only when the sound is above the threshold. This saves power and/or battery life.3. Press m  button repeatedly to exit.NOTES•  When the Voice Activation function is on, the Voice Activation LED will be turned on (red) and the display screen will switch off after a few seconds. •  The display screen will be switched back on when the sound level of the baby reaches the Voice Activation threshold or when any button on the parent unit is pressed.•  When the Voice Activation function is off, the Voice Activation LED will be turned off and the display screen will always switch on.
Disposal of the device (environment) 15ENGLISH5. Disposal of the device (environment)At the end of the product lifecycle, you should not dispose of this product with normal household waste. Take this product to a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. The symbol on the product, user’s guide and/or box indicates this.Some of the product materials can be re-used if you take them to a recycling point. By reusing some parts or raw materials from used products you make an important contribution to the protection of the environment.Please contact your local authorities in case you need more information on the collection points in your area.Dispose of the batteries in an environmentally-friendly manner according to your local regulations.
16 Cleaning6. CleaningClean the MBP35BL, MBP35BW with a slightly damp cloth or with an anti-static cloth. Never use cleaning agents or abrasive solvents.Cleaning and care•  Do not clean any part of the product with thinners or other solvents and chemicals –- this may cause permanent damage to the product which is not covered by the warranty. When necessary, clean it with a damp cloth.•  Keep your MBP35BL, MBP35BW away from hot, humid areas, or strong sunlight, and don’t let it get wet.•  Every effort has been made to ensure high standards of reliability for your MBP35BL, MBP35BW. Unplug the units’ electrical power, including the batteries and both mains adapters, then plug them back in.•  Is the unit turned on? Press and release p on the parent unit to turn it on.Is the Voice Activation mode on?•  Turn the Voice Activation off (see “4.5 Voice Activation”) to keep the screen on continually.RegistrationIf the baby unit has lost its link with the parent unit•  Try recharging or replacing the batteries.•  If the baby unit is too far away it may be going out of range, so move the baby unit closer to the parent unit.•  Reset the units by disconnecting them from the battery and electrical power. Wait about 15 seconds before reconnecting. Allow up to one minute for the baby unit and the parent unit to synchronize.•  See “2.5 Registration” if there is a need to re-register the units.InterferenceNoise interference on your parent unit•  Your baby and parent units may be too close. Move them farther away from each other. •  Make sure there is at least 1 metre between the 2 units to avoid audio feedback.
