1110HOOKING UP THE VIDEO RECEIVER1. Connect a set of Audio/Video cables to the A/V OUT jacks ofyour Video Receiver. Connect the other end to your secondary TV.2. Plug the Video Receiver's Power Supply (the larger of the twopower supplies) into a 120 volt wall outlet and plug its jack intothe Video Receiver.3. Position the Video Receiver in a convenient location such as ontop of the TV and orient the antenna so that the flat side points inthe direction of the room where you set up the Video Sender.IF YOUR TV DOES NOT HAVEA/V CONNECTORSYou can use the suppliedcoaxial cable to connect theTV OUT socket on the VideoReceiver to the Antennainput on your TV. If youalready have an antennaconnected to your TV, youwill need to use a TVantenna splitter.Set your TV and the TV Channel switch on the Video Receiver (onbottom) to the same channel (3 or 4).3. Plug the Video Sender's Power Supply (the smaller of the twopower supplies) into a convenient 120 volt wall outlet and plug itsjack into the Video Sender.4. Position the Video Sender in a convenient location such as on topof the TV and orient the antenna so that the flat side points in thedirection of the room where you will be installing the VideoReceiver.IF YOU HAVE SEVERAL A/VCOMPONENTSIf you have two or more A/Vcomponents (e.g. DSS, VCR, Cable Box,Video Disk etc.) that you want to watchin another room, they will probablyalready be hooked up to the local TV inseries (see the diagram to the right). Toconnect the Video Sender you just needto identify the last component in thechain and connect its LINE OUT jacks tothe Video Sender's LINE IN jacks. If the last component in the chain doesnot have spare LINE OUT jacks, reconnect the local TV to the lastcomponent in the chain using coaxialcables to connect the VHF/UHF ports, then use the A/V connections for theVideo Sender.Point the small tubular antenna up if you intend to use the IR Extenderfeature (See page 14).
1312 FINE TUNING YOUR VIDEO SENDER The Wireless Video Sender usually works best with the flat faces ofthe antennas on the Sender and Receiver unit facing each other (i.e.in “Line of sight” - see diagram below). Sometimes, however, reflections and other effects in the home may affect the signal so thatsome adjustment of either the Sender or Receiver antenna may benecessary to get the best the signal.IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING ANY SIGNAL AT ALLCheck that the CHANNEL slide switch (labeled 1 to 4) on both units(on bottom) is set to the same number. If you are using coaxial TV connections from the Video Receiver, check that the TV is tuned to the same channel as the TV Channelswitch on the bottom of the Video Receiver (3 or 4).IF THE SIGNAL IS POOR, OR THERE IS INTERFERENCETry changing the channel on both units. Do this by adjusting theCHANNEL slide switch on the bottom of each Video Sender unit toany position from 1-4. Make sure both units are set to the samechannel.IF YOU WANT TO USE YOUR VIDEO SENDER TO TRANSMITFROM YOUR STEREO SYSTEM ONLYJust hook up the Video Sender usingonly the red and white jacks for theright and left channels of the audiosignal. Leave the yellow (video) jacksunconnected.IF YOUR SECOND TV IS ALREADY HOOKED UP TO A DSS RECEIVER OROTHER A/V DEVICEIf your DSS Receiver or other A/Vcomponent is connected to the TV usingA/V cables, you can connect the VideoReceiver to the free LINE IN jacks onthe component. If there are no LINE INjacks, you will need to use a TVantenna splitter as described earlier.
