■Software installation guide for additional functionsPlease install an additional utility program which is used to convertfrom TVF file to WAV file, download the font and upgrade firmware.▶How to install Software Program1. Insert the installation CD, and the following pictures areappeared. (If it is not run automatically, please click on‘HAN-250X-Installer.exe’ file in the CD-ROM for the manualinstallation.)2. Please follow the installation guide when it is run automatically.Select the folder to install. Then press [Next] Button in the order.■PC System Requirements- Windows 98SE  / ME / 2000  / XP          - 20MB Hard Disk Space or higher- CD-ROM Driver- PC for USB Port supported■Required Software by OS(Operating System)Required Enviroment for users- 6 -- 5 -▶To install the program in Windows 98SE / MEWindows 98SE / ME users should install the program in InstallationCD.※If users don't install the program of Installation CD, computerdoesn't recognize the player as a removable disk and it can'tconvert from TVF to WAV, download fonts, or  upgradefirmware. Users should surely install the program of Installation CD.※Player doesn't support Windows 98 Original version.※If PC doesn't recognize the removable disk normally even afterinstalling the program, please refer to page #34, or FAQ inwebsite www.amac21.com.▶To install the program in Windows 2000 / XPIt is recommended that Windows 2000 / XP users install theprogram of Installation CD.※Even if users don't install the program of Installation CD inWindows 2000 / XP, computer can recognize the player as aremovable disk automatically.※However, the installation is still required for converting fromTVF to WAV, downloading fonts, and upgrading firmware.※If Windows 2000 users don’t have Windows 2000 Service Pack3 in the computer, users have to install Service Pack 3. 3. Please restart your computer to complete installation.To Upload/Download■To connect to PCTo download MP3 files from PC to HAN-250X, connect the providedUSB cable between PC and MP3 Player. Then Windows explorerincluding ‘config.sys’file is appeared in the PC. If users remove thisconfig.sys file from Player by using Windows explorer, all of basicsetting values defined by AMAC will be changed because that‘config.sys’file contains all of setting values defined by user. ■To Upload/Download the files①Removable disk drive is appeared in [My Computer] when theplayer is connected to PC. And then [USB Connect] is displayedon the LCD of the player.②Users can copy the files saved in PC to the folder created inremovable disk drive.11※Reference :1. Users can create the desired folders for userconvenience. For instance, Music, Voice,Pictures, Business, and so on.11※ Reference : 2. ■To FormatPlease format the memory after selecting the Removable Disk Driveand click on ‘FORMAT’in ‘FILE’Menu as below procedures.※Caution : If formatted, all data stored in the Memory will bedeleted. Therefore please back-up all of data beforethe format.※It is strongly recommended to use [Format Memory] function ofthe player because users can save the waiting time(the bootingtime) when the player is turned on. Feature & Others- 12 -To listen to MP3/WMA Music Files■To listen to music▶To turn the POWER ON/OFF, PLAY/STOPThe power will be turned on when NAVIGATION Key(▶l l ) i spressed over two or more seconds and then press NAVIGATIONKey(▶l l ) once again to play the music.Press NAVIGATION Key(▶l l ), and playerstops playing. Press NAVIGATION Key(▶l l )for two or more seconds while the playerdoes not play. Then, the power is switchedoff. (※ Notice : The booting time may be different according to thenumber of the folders and files saved in the player.)▶To control VolumePlease move M(MENU) Key to ‘VOL+’(to LEFT SIDE) for vol-ume up. And move M(MENU) Key to ‘VOL-’(to RIGHT SIDE)for volume down. The Volume can be controlled in the range of00~30.▶Repeat function for the selected Area (A-B)The desired area can be played repeatedly in the playback file. Thenthe Playback Speed Control Setting up will be controlled up to 6steps. Repeat function is not available in case REPEATMODE is set up as a ‘RAN’(Random).▶HOLD  With this function, you can prevent HAN-250X from malfunctionoccurred in the disordered place. When HOLD button is placed inthe ON Position (HOLD 󰥧ㅣ), all buttons on the player are notworking. However, POWER ON is available on the present status ofPOWER OFF.■MENU FunctionHAN-250X has a function of M(MENU) Key for user convenience.Press M(MENU) Key, and icons for setting up functions will be dis-played on LCD screen (EQ 󰦆REPEAT  󰦆PLAYBACK SPEEDCONTROL 󰦆RECORD SELECTION(Voice/Line)). Each timeusers press MENU Key, it moves EQ 󰦆REPEAT 󰦆PLAYBACKSPEED CONTROL 󰦆RECORD SELECTION in regular sequence.If no movement occurs more than 5 seconds, it automatically returnsto the previous status. ■How to recordAfter setting up MIC(        ) Icon, press REC(●) Button to start therecording and press REC(●) Button again to stop the recording. Therecorded voice will be saved in ENCODING folder(0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .)automatically.■To record with MICPlease press M(MENU) Key and then select MIC(       ) Icon torecord. The recorded files will be saved from VOICE001 in theENCODING folder in sequence.■To encode from other Audio Devices(Direct Encoding)It is the function to record directly from other audio devices such asCD Players or Cassette Players.- Connect Line-In terminal of the player to Line-Out terminal of a u d i odevices with an audio cable provided after setting up LINE(        )Icon at MENU Function.- 16 -To record/encode■Power Saving FunctionThe power will be turned off automatically if no movement occurs for3 minutes.■To search DirectoryFolders consist of each basic folder, and MP3 files are saved in eachfolder. If the desired file that users want to listen to is in the otherfolder, users have to move to that pertinent directory.▶To move from file to fileMove NAVIGATION Key(▶l l ) to left(◀◀) or right(▶▶) for thenext or previous file. If the current status is root folder, subfolderwill be shown with files of the root folder. Feature & Others- 18 -To listen to FM Radio & record at the real timePlease move NAVIGATION Key(▶l l ) to ‘FM’shortly to move to FM Mode.(※ Notice : Earphone provided should be inserted into the player toreceive FM frequency because the earphone works as anantenna.)■To preset frequency by Auto ScanMove NAVIGATION Key(▶l l )to ‘FM’ to enter FM Radio.Then, press M(MENU) Key two or more seconds to search and saveup to 15 channels automatically(PRESET01~PRESET15).■To save frequency by ManualIn case it may happen that the saved frequencies are not very well set,the desired frequencies can be found and saved by manual as follows:- Press M(MENU) Key once, and the saved frequencies are released.Move NAVIGATION Key(▶l l ) to left(◀◀) or right(▶▶) to movethe desired frequency. - Press NAVIGATION Key(▶l l ), and [PRESET SAVED] is displayedon LCD which means the desired frequency is saved.- Play the CD Player or Cassette Player and press REC(●) Button onthe player to start the recording.- Press REC(●) Button again to stop the recording.The recorded files will be saved from LINE-001 in the ENCODINGfolder in sequence.(※ Reference : Users need to set up the best tone quality of the otheraudio devices because tone quality of the recordedfile depends on tone quality of the other audiodevices actually.)■To listen to the recorded fileThe playback of the all recordings is the same as listening to themusic.- 17 -R e f e r e n c e1.
