You can also email it to your friends.You can email your Fooz card to friends, or post it to your social networks and blogs and always be connected.Launching urFoozTo launch urFooz, tap UrFooz from the Applications menu.Creating your urFooz avatarIf you have not yet set up an account to urFooz, tap the Get Started button. If you have an existing urFooz account, select Sign in and login with your email and password.To start creating your avatar, select your Gender, Ethnicity, Zodiac Sign, Relationship Status and Areas of Interest.Next, start customizing your avatar. Tap Features to choose your face shape, eyes, nose, mouth and other facial features. Select Clothing to dress your svatar. Select Accessories to choose other items such as earrings, headbands, and whatever else to give your Fooz avatar your personal touch. Simply tap the image to apply the item to your avatar and preview how it looks on the left side of the screen.
38Select SAVE and type in a name for your Fooz avatar. The next screen will ask you for the email address, password, and required user information. The email and password you enter will be used to sign into your urFooz account.Managing your avatarNow that you have created your Fooz avatar, go to Fooz World and personalize your Fooz card, or your portable profile.Select Profile/Apps to fill in your profile and other information such as bookmarks of your social network profiles and favorite websites. Select Switch Avatar to change your default avatar, modify existing avatars, or create a new avatar.Sharing your Fooz card and avatarurFooz lets you share your Fooz card with friends by posting it to your social networks, blogs, and websites; or emailing it to friends.In Fooz World, select Share it. 39SpinletsBrowsing albumsOnce Spinlets is opened, you will see a display of featured albums. Browse this display by sliding your finger horizontally (left or right), and select an album by tapping it. Browsing genresTo browse the Gallery by genre, tap the Genres button on the bottom left corner of the screen. You will see a new screen with a list of different genres. Tap on the genre you wish to view.SortTo sort through Spinlets by Name, Ratings, or Newest content, select the Sort button at the bottom of the screen.SearchTo search the Gallery for a specific name, select the Search button at the bottom right corner of the screen. Type the name of an artist in the search box and find potential matches.
40Exploring Spinlets widgetsWhen you select an album, you will see a Spinlet.To play the featured song, select the red Play button.To play selected songs, select the Music tab and choose which songs you would like to play.To view artist photos, select the Photos tab.To visit the artist's social networks and websites, select the icons located along the bottom of the screen.Sharing your SpinletsYou can share your favorite Spinlets in two ways.To post the Spinlet you are currently viewing to your social networks, blogs, or other websites, tap Share It at the top right corner of the Spinlet. Select Post it and tap the icon of the social network site or blog you want to post the widget to. Log in to your social network account or blog page and follow the steps.You can also share Spinlets through email. 45Acer SettingsChapter 9: Advanced SettingsAcer SettingsAcer Settings is a convenient all-in-one place for you to adjust commonly-used settings on your phone. Open the Applications menu and tap Acer Settings.From this screen you can turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on or off or adjust their settings by tapping . You can also set your Phone network settings, Tethering & portable hotspot, set the Ringtone, screen Brightness or Screen Timeout.Important: If your phone is in Airplane mode, the option to turn Bluetooth on will be disabled. Please refer to “Putting your smartphone in Airplane mode“ on page 45 for instructions on turning Airplane mode on or off.Putting your smartphone in Airplane modeYou can enter Airplane mode (also known as flight mode) to turn off telephone and Bluetooth functions and use your smartphone as a handheld device during a flight. 47Adjusting settingsWi-Fi hotspotYou can turn your smartphone into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot to share your mobile Internet connection with up to 8 clients.1. Tap Settings > Wireless & network > Tethering & portable hotspot > Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings2. Tap Configure Wi-Fi hotspot.3. Set the Network SSID and adjust security between Open and WPA2 PSK. Tap Save to finish.Note: When your smartphone is serving as a Wi-Fi hotspot, you can’t use your phone’s applications to access the Internet via its Wi-Fi connection.Phone network settingsTap Mobile networks to adust your network settings. You can turn data connection on or off when roaming, restrict the connection to 2G networks only, specify a network operator and define access point names.Selecting a networkYour phone wil automatically detect your carrier/network settings when you insert a new SIM card. However, you may prefer to manually select a network. This may be a good idea when roaming.Tip: When you are traveling, manually selecting a network may help to reduce your roaming charges. Check with your home service provider for the network offering the most competitive rates at your destination.1. Open the Applications menu and tap Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Network operators.2. Your phone will search for available networks.3. Select your preferred network from the list generated. You phone will attempt to register on the selected network.4. Tap Select automatically to connect to the available network with the strongest signal. This may lead to your phone jumping between networks when you move around.Note: Contact your service provider should you have any problems obtaining voice mail and the text message service center numbers.Dolby MobileTo access Dolby Mobile settings go to the applications menu and tap Settings > Dolby Mobile. Here you can switch Dolby Mobile on or off, set Treble, Natural Bass, Music EQ and Video EQ.

49Connecting to a PCConnecting to a PCIf you wish to transfer information between the microSD Card in your phone and your computer, you can connect your phone to a PC using the supplied USB cable. Plug the USB sync cable into the micro USB connector on your smartphone. Plug the USB client connector into an available USB port on your computer.Pull down the notification bar, and tap USB Connected. Tap Turn on USB storage.You will now be able to see the microSD Card in your phone as a drive in your computer’s file explorer.Note: After turning on USB storage, you will not be able to access the files in the microSD card or applications such as Gallery or Music.SynchronizationYou can sync your calendar, email and contacts on your phone and never worry about losing them again. Sync in real time or adjust it as you please. Tap Menu > Settings > Accounts & sync to access the synchronization settings.To have your smartphone auto-sync, make sure Background data and Auto-sync are checked. To manage synchronization of individual accounts, tap an account to see thier settings.Google SyncIn Google, you can set synchronization for contacts, email and calendar. Tap to checkmark an item you would like to have auto-sync. Tap again to uncheck any for manual synchronization. To manually synchronize an item, tap the item. Note: You need a Google account to sync your calendar and appointments.Acer SyncAcer Sync allows you to easily synchronize your contacts, calendar, photos and videos between your smartphone, PC and corresponding Google services. Select Play or Save.To send audio files as an email attachment using Google or RoadSync Mail, or to paired devices using Bluetooth, tap and hold a photo thumbnail, then tap Share.Media serverYour phone can act as a digital media server using uPnP technology. This means that you can use it to send media content to other uPnP-enabled home entertainment devices that are connected to a home wireless network.To set up the media server, open the Applications menu and tap Media server.You will need to enable Share Contents before you can start using the service.Adjusting the volumeAdjust the volume of your phone using the volume button on the side of the phone. Alternatively, you can set the Ringer volume and Media volume by opening the Applications menu and going to Settings > Sound.Setting the date and timeTo set the date and time, open the Applications menu and tap Settings > Date & time.Tip: If you travel frequently or live in an area that uses daylight saving time, activate Automatic from this menu. You may:• Turn the alarm on or off.• Set the alarm time.• Set which days to repeat the alarm.• Set a ringtone.• Enable or disable vibrate.• Give it a label.Changing language and text optionsSet your location and language input preferences by opening the Applications menu and going to Settings > Language & keyboard.Managing applicationsApp-2-SDWhen installing an application, you may have a choice to install the program to the internal memory or installed memory card.Note: Not all programs support App-2-SD. Please see application specifications for compatibility.Warning! Make sure you trust the source of any program you install. If you are not sure of the source, do not install a program. Installing programs from unknown sources increases your risk of virus attacks and theft of personal and private data.Closing an applicationTo close an active application, go to Settings > Applications > Manage applications. Tap the Running tab, then tap the program you wish to close. Select Force stop to close the program.Uninstalling an applicationYou can remove programs installed on your smartphone to free up extra storage memory. Tap and hold a program icon from the Applications menu and drag it into the trash can on the bottom left hand corner. Alternatively, you can go to Settings from the Applications menu and select Applications > Manage applications. Tap the application you wish to uninstall, tap Uninstall and confirm the uninstall.Here you can allow programs from Unknown sources to be installed and Manage applications.Warning! You should only remove programs if you are familiar with the Android operating system.
54Restoring to factory settingsYou may perform a clean boot to restore your smartphone to the factory settings.Note: Before performing a reset, ensure that your smartphone is not locked. Press any key or tap the screen to see if the phone responds.Warning! You should only perform a clean boot when all other options have failed to restore your smartphone to an operational state.Warning! This will erase all your personal information, any contacts stored on your phone and any programs you installed.If your phone is responding to screen inputOpen Settings from the Applications menu, then tap Privacy > Factory data reset; click Reset phone and then Erase everything to format your phone.
55Using the headsetChapter 10: Accessories and TipsThis chapter shows you how to use accessories with your smartphone, as well as provide useful tips for when you are using your smartphone.Using the headsetYour smartphone comes packaged with a headset with built-in microphone for handsfree use when making calls.To use the headset, plug it into the 3.5 mm headphone jack at the side of the phone.When the headset is plugged in, all audio is routed to the headset, and the speakers are turned off.• To answer an incoming call, press the button on the microphone.• Adjust the volume using the volume up/down button on the smartphone.• End the call by pressing the button again.Using a Bluetooth headsetYour smartphone’s Bluetooth functions make it fully compatible with all Bluetooth headsets. This allows you to use the unit handsfree when making calls, without the inconvenience of wires.HDMI and 720P outputYour smartphone is capable of outputting audio and video content to your TV through the micro HDMI (type D) connector.Make sure that the micro HDMI (type D) connector is properly connected to your smartphone and compatible TV. Set the TV to the proper HDMI input.Open nemoPlayer or clear.fi from the applications menu and select the videos tab.Tap the video you would like to play and you will be asked if you would like to output via HDMI. Select Yes and enjoy your video.Note: The smartphone screen will be blank while outputing via HDMI.Creating a new access pointWhen you need to add another GPRS/3G/EDGE connection on your phone, obtain the access point name and settings (including username and password if required) from your wireless service provider.1. Open the Applications menu and tap Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.2. Tap the Menu button and tap New APN.
